So, I wanted to do something for Sonic's 20th anniversary, and I thought, "What do I most like about Sonic games so that I could illustrate?" My choice is how the classic Sonic games handled levels - not only they're very big, explorative, and so full of paths to take, but each one had its feel, pacing, and unique structures to them. And I think that Sonic CD is the game that handled that the best, and hence why it's my favorite Sonic game. Each level is huge, and very unique and peculiar in its own ways, making it really fun to explore, and I wanted to illustrate that there on the picture, even though it doesn't do a lot of justice - levels have a whole lot more to offer than what I tried to illustrate. Almost every time I replay Sonic CD, I end up finding new things about the game, and specially about the levels, such as secret rooms and all.
Anyway, really, really proud of how it came out! It's not -exactly- like the original levels, although I did try to be very faithful to them, but if you're a huge Sonic CD nerd you might be able to notice that I simplified a few things or just changed how they look either because it'd look better or it'd be simpler to do.
Best painting from me so far!

Ah wow, this is incredible! Sonic CD is also my favorite Sonic game, so I'm totally in love with this. You did really good simplifying the levels into one pic like this, as well as capturing the look and feel of each and every one of them. This makes me wanna go and play the game right now. xD Amazing work on this!
This is probably my work with the highest size publicly available already!!
I don't like posting my work in a high resolution because it makes the mistakes seem much more apparent, plus, if someone steals my work, I can just quickly pull off the same work at a much higher resolution that I did not post online anywhere.
But still, thanks a lot for the appreciation!! I might consider it c:
