Introducing Hutch, a mid/late-40s Donkey who owns that van parked just outside of GoodSoup. Sabs never found reason to ask his real name...
Hutch is your general 'handyman' type. Whatever doesn't need fixing, needs cleaning. He's happy to offer his maintenance services to Sabs in return for 'Mates Rates'; or at least that's what he calls it when he skips lunch and turns up just after closing time to snag up some leftovers. He's the type who believes food always tastes better when you reheat it.
Whether he skips lunch intentionally to get out of queuing up for food or whether he does it to have some one-on-one time with the owner is up for debate.

GoodSoup - Interior - 4:42pm
Hutch talks through a half-filled mouth - ...so what, you and Luce broke up or something? I thought you two were supposed to be moving in together?
Sabs turns his head to face him - The hell have you been reading into, Hutch? And no, we were just...spending April together, I guess. We're more like F-W-Bs, y'know? 'sides, I don't think Luce's parents would forgive her for marrying someone like me.
Hutch swallows - You mean a Dragon? A Chef? A self-employ? Someone without a trace of hair on their body?
Sabs corrects - Someone who makes significantly less money than her.
Hutch scoffs - No shit? Daycarers get paid three figures or something, now? Last time I checked it paid about as well as our lot.
Sabs - I never ask what she makes; but apparently we're both underestimating how much parents are willing to spend to have other people take care of their kids. She does more than well enough; it's not like she's the one living upstairs from her own business.
Hutch reasons - Well that just means you're cutting out the commute. Imagine having to wake up at 7am every time you had a shift.
Sabs - I did. And I traded it in for this.
...hey, speaking of shifts; you're still free to help clean out my fryers on Saturday, yes?
Hutch - Right. Because a guy like me has nothing better to do with his Saturdays. So just backtracking here, I guess this whole "F-W-B" thing with Luce means you're still single? Or at least until you and Luce are willing to take responsibility for each other's feelings?
Sabs - Don't be an ass, Hutch; everybody knows you don't do anything with your Saturdays.
Hutch retorts - Neither do you. Well, nothing that leaves the kitchen anyway. ...so hey, once we're done with the greasetraps-
Sabs interrupts - Yeah yeah, lunch'll be on me.
Hutch leans forwards - That's not what I was gonna sa-
Sabs continues - I was thinking Chilli; don't worry, I'll make it vegan.
Hutch tried to get a more direct word in - Okay, one; vegetarian, not vegan. Two; I was actually wondering if you're doing anything with the rest of your da-
Sabs interrupts, now on a tangent - Well sure, but all I have to do is substitute the Meat and Stock; they're the only two animal products in the thing, and I ain't found any vegetable stock that isn't also vegan. You following?
Hutch lets out a resigned sigh and continues eating - ...Saturday, 12pm. Don't sleep in, yeah? I don't wanna be the one to wake you up.
Sabs - Oh please, Hutch, those days are behind me.
