"Surprise!" Jake exclaimed, pulling back the curtain to reveal a cosy setup
in the backyard. "Wow, you made a cinema just for me?" Kate's eyes sparkled
with excitement as she looked at the projector.
"I thought we could watch your favourite movie under the stars," he said, smiling. "This is the best gift ever, Jake!"
she exclaimed, hugging her brother and then clapping her hands in delight as they settled in.
As the night went on, Kate glanced at her brother and asked,
"Soo... does this mean movie nights from now on?"
Jake closed his eyes, thinking. "Well, if we pool our money, we can probably get a few more movies." Kate smiled and hugged him tightly.
"This is great, thanks..."
"So..." Jake looked over at the movie and then at Kate. "Am I the best brother you've ever had?" Kate gave him a quick glance, smirked, and playfully kiss his cheek. "Of course!"
Jake blushed slightly, caught off guard. "Well, I wasn’t expecting that."
Kate laughed, shaking her head. "You dork, I love you..."
"I love you too, sis."
Sometime later, Jake noticed Kate had fallen asleep. He gently grabbed a blanket and draped it over her.
"Well, sleep tight, Kate..." he whispered, taking a moment to watch her. He was happy, their bond was strong. Jake had planned a surprise for her after founding out she was sad. After asking around her friends, he learned that some boys at school had been making fun of her. He hoped that by creating a special day, he could lift her spirits and show her just how much she meant to him.
So he did!
Jake took the time to make this day special for Kate.
