Personal artwork for my setting.
Auris is a successful experiment in fusing a living creature with the very essence of magic. Oh, yes, there have been many unsuccessful experiments, and some still cause problems for the inhabitants of Mindra.
Auris was given as a gift by one of the royals in hopes of receiving funding for further work in this field.
Fortunately or not, the funding was received, but the consequences of continuing the research were fatal.
Nevertheless, Auris continues to be used for ceremonial rides by members of the royal family.
From the fusion with magic, he received his unnaturally colorful, delicate and iridescent coloring on the crest. Auris is much smarter than his wild relatives, but does not reach the level of his creators.
He is sensitive to magic, can allow the rider to see and feel the same as Auris himself. Otherwise, the beast is ordinary, which is why it is considered quite successful. Roughly speaking, it does not want to kill you - that's already great.
