Sean was getting used to being Percy.
After a harrowing transformation shortly after putting on a (expectedly) cursed dog collar for a cosplay, he had turned into Percy Poodle, a FNAF Fangame character. At first, it was a bit tough getting used to his newfound height, his fur, and the weird looks he got from strangers in public, but now that the convention had finally arrived, he was excited to show off his “cosplay” for all to see.
Sean drove his battered old blue sedan over to the convention center and pulled into the lot. He drove up to the security gate and saw a lazy eyed aged security guard manning the booth. He walked over to Sean’s car as he rolled down the window and raised an eyebrow when he saw Sean’s appearance.
“What’re you supposed to be? One of those dogs from that one kids movie with the pets?” he asked. Sean hardly expected anyone to recognize Percy, but he hadn’t expected someone acting as a guard for a convention to be this ignorant. Still, he was an old man, and his sleepy expression showed he was probably not even aware of the passage of time at the moment.
“Uhhhh yeah.” Sean said to clear up the awkwardness. He held out his parking ticket and the guard scanned it with his scanner before raising the gate. Sean closed his window back up and drove into the lot, where he easily found a spot by the entrance to the center. He had arrived super early to beat the crowds, and he was in luck. Save for 20 or 30 other cars, the lot was almost empty.
Sean put his car into park and turned it off before setting his keys into his pockets and stepping outside. The cool morning asphalt felt nice under his bare paws as he stepped out of the car, making sure to crouch to keep his head from hitting the roof. As he closed the car door, he looked down at the side view mirror to admire his outfit.
He was wearing black ripped shorts paired with a sleeveless black vest, ankle belts and spiked wrist belts, fingerless gloves (which had been hard to find in his size), and the all too familiar collar he had chosen for the event. He thought about staying true to the character and going with just the gloves, belts, and collar, but he still felt awkward being completely naked even with the thick coat of fur covering everything up.
As Sean finished his admiration, he walked away from his car and towards the entrance of the center. The convention was due to open in 30 minutes, so already a sizable crowd had gathered in the front. Sean counted at least 60 people waiting by the entrance, so he sighed and made his way to the back of the crowd. It was surprising how many people were willing to get up before 8 on a Saturday for the sake of conventions, but he couldn’t complain.
While Sean stood absent-mindely behind everyone else, he soon started getting curious looks from them. Sean couldn’t help but feel embarrassed from the attention and could feel his tail beginning to wag. This only attracted more curious glances as soon enough, someone dressed up as Malenia from Elden Ring walked up to him.
“Hey, that’s a pretty cool fursuit.” she said. “Is it an OC or a character?” she asked. Sean nervously looked up at her through her winged helm.
“I’m um… Percy Poodle from… Playtime with Percy.” he said, stumbling over his own words. The cosplayer cocked her head a bit.
“Huh. Can’t say I’ve heard of that, but it's a pretty good costume nonetheless. That mouth movement and tail stuff looks real.” she said. Sean gave her an approving nod as she turned back to face the crowd. The curious onlookers who had heard the dialogue looked away soon after, having lost interest from the mention of a series they know nothing about.
Sean couldn’t help but feel disheartened from the loss of interest and he felt his tail stop wagging. If this had been a cartoon, he could already hear the “boo-womp” playing over his frown. What was the point of cosplaying… ok turning into a character if no one was going to recognize them? He should have ordered a cursed top hat to turn into Freddy instead.
Sean just sighed and pulled out his phone to absentmindedly browse his socials while waiting. The crowds began to thicken and a few more people walked over to ask who he was supposed to be, but everytime he told them they either gave a confused glance, vocalisation of non-understanding, or just walked away uninterested.
As the sun slowly rose over the horizon and the time approached, Sean had all but given up on being recognized and was debating just looting the gift shops before leaving early. He had gotten the ticket for the convention for a bargain, so he wasn’t exactly throwing his money away.
“Woah! That’s an awesome Percy cosplay!” said someone close by.
Sean’s ears perked up as he looked up from his phone and to his right towards the voice. There a whole foot and a half shorter than him was a young man dressed in a clown suit. The yellow pants were covered in red circular dots all along it and had frilly bottoms over bright red boots. His striped shirt had vertical lines of red, yellow, and blue with two large white puffs running down its center. Paired with his attire were white cartoon gloves and a yellow and red fuzzy party hat. He himself had pale skin and blond hair paired with green eyes and a slight smile as he awaited Sean’s answer.
“Uhhhh, yes! I am cosplaying Percy. How’d you recognize me?” Sean asked. The boy laughed and pointed to his own suit.
“Recognize me?” he asked. Sean got a closer look and the outfit did seem familiar. Wait. When he had looked up the game he remembered seeing a cat dressed up in that same outfit. What was his name again?
“You’re Charlie right?” Sean said, the name popping into his head. The cosplayer jumped up excitedly at the mention.
“Yeah! No one else recognized me either, so it’s nice to see someone else who’s seen the game. It's one of my favourites.” the cosplayer said excitedly. Sean admired his enthusiasm and felt it immediately lifting his spirits. Just to have someone else recognize him and for him to do the same made this day already worthwhile.
“I gotta say though, that costume is loads better than mine. That fur looks so real. Can I touch it?” the cosplayer asked. Sean gave a slight nod. It wouldn’t hurt much.
The cosplayer stepped up to his chest and gently rubbed his fur with his right hand, which made Sean feel super relaxed. The grey fur along his chest was smooth and cool, which delighted the cosplayer as he felt its fluffy fur.
“Wow. I can even feel your body heat and heartbeat through this suit. Where’d you get it from?” the cosplayer asked. Sean hesitated a bit. He hadn’t exactly told anyone that he had transformed, but no one had bothered to ask so he didn’t exactly have a fib at the ready. So he made up one on the spot.
“I, uh, made it myself.” he said quickly. The cosplayer looked even more impressed as he moved his hands up to his neck and began rubbing the scruff of it. Sean felt some sort of canine excitement race through his system as the cosplayer began to scratch the side of his neck. He slowly began to lean forward and closed his eyes a bit.
“Oh yeah. That hits the spot.” he said, his voice utterly relaxed. The cosplayer seemed a but confused, but he figured he was just getting super into his character, so he kept scratching and gently moved his hand underneath his shout. Sean was under a trance by this point and felt his mouth open while his tongue rolled out, causing him to begin panting.
“You’re, uh, pretty into this cosplay.” the cosplayer said. Sean gave a satisfied nod as he kept getting scritchies, making his tail wag even more and more. Unfortunately, Sean hadn’t realised how much his tail had been wagging, and it was currently hitting against a Kratos from God of War cosplayer with an (appropriately) short fuse. The cosplayer took a sharp inhale and yanked the tail when it hit his midsection once more.
Sean let out a yelp, scaring the Charlie cosplayer, before he stumbled a bit on his new legs and fell down, landing on top of the Charlie cosplayer.
“OUGH!” he exclaimed from underneath the fluffy mass he had been buried under. Sean panicked and lifted himself up off the ground before looking down at the cosplayer. His party hat had been thrown from his head and his suit had some speckles of white and grey fur on it, but he was otherwise ok. The surrounding crowd gave concerned looks to Sean and the Charlie cosplayer and dirty looks to the Kratos cosplayer, who was busy not giving a shit.
“You ok?” Sean asked as he reached down. The Charlie cosplayer took his hand and lifted himself up before reaching down to grab his hat.
“I’m good. Just a bit squashed is all.” he said before wincing. He held his left hand in his right as Sean looked down at it and saw a bit of red peeking through his fingers. This immediately set off the alarm bells in his brain.
“Woah. Did you get cut?” he asked. The cosplayer looked down at the wound, which looked like two red dots.
“No, I don't think it's a cut. I think you… bit me?” he said, confused. “But there’s no way your teeth are that sharp. It's just a costume…” he said, even more confused. Sean cleared his throat a bit.
“Ummm actually it’s not a cos-” he was interrupted by the sound of the convention center doors opening and an announcer stepping outside.
“Alright everyone! Form a neat and orderly line to the check-in table and we’ll begin getting you all inside.” he said loudly. Surprisingly, the group of cosplayers all filed into the lobby neatly and orderly and formed into a massive line towards the check-in desk, which was divided into six individual check-in zones. Sean and the cosplayer ended up in the leftmost line behind ten people.
“I’m sorry for accidentally biting you.” Sean said once the lines had formed fully. The Charlie cosplayer slightly shook his head.
“It’s all good. It feels like just a surface wound. I should be alright…” he said, before his voice drifted off a bit. Sean raised an eyebrow as the cosplayer nodded his head a bit, but soon enough they both reached the check-in desk.
Sean presented his ticket and the cosplayer followed suit. Both tickets were scanned without a hitch and they stepped inside the center past the desks. It was fairly quiet considering how early they had arrived, but Sean could already see a large crowd forming outside. He was once again thankful for getting there early.
However, his attention was drawn away from the crowd towards the Charlie cosplayer, who looked even more pale and seemed to be stumbling a bit. He began looking around for somewhere as Sean walked over to him.
“Are you good? Do you need somewhere quiet?” he asked the cosplayer, who gave a weak nod.
“Yeah. That or a bathroom would be preferable. I don’t… feel so good.” he said weakly. Sean was concerned now as he looked over the crowds for a bathroom, which he spotted at the far end of the lobby close to a voice actor booth. Sean pointed it out to the cosplayer who looked over with a tired expression.
He gently directed the cosplayer over to the bathroom as the crowd began pouring in and pushed open the door for him. As he stepped inside, he made sure to gently close the door behind them before looking over. It was your typical convention center bathroom, although surprisingly clean and free of BO since the event had only just begun.
“Alright, do you want me to look around for a medkit or something? You look like you’re about to vomit.” Sean asked. The cosplayer shook his head as he leaned over the counter and set his hat on the white and grey granite.
“No, it's all good. Just need some water real quick. I haven’t eaten yet today so I’m probably just weak from that.” he said. “Also, I think this is a bit late, but what’s your name?” he asked.
“Sean,” Sean said plainly. “It's nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you as well. I’m Michael.” Michael said before standing up a bit and extending a hand in greeting. Sean took it and shook it firmly before Michael faced the mirror and turned on the facet. As he ran the cold water into his cupped hands and began to drink it, Sean noticed something peculiar about his left hand.
“Hey… wasn’t that the hand that I bit?” he asked. Michael looked over to it and raised an eyebrow. The two red marks looked like they had faded away, and through the holes in the glove, Sean could see the skin looked good as new.
“What?” Michael said, perplexed. He reached down and took off the gloves and sure enough, the bite mark had faded away entirely. He turned his hand over and rubbed the back of it in case he was missing it, but it was like the wound was gone. All that remained of it was the faint stains of blood on his left glove.
“Did I imagine that?” he said, still pale of face. Sean shook his head.
“I don’t know. I saw it too.” he responded, also gazing at the hand perplexed. Both he and Michael stared at the hand in confusion before suddenly, it began to twitch. Michael felt a tingling sensation run along his hand as he saw something strange form on the back of it.
From the back of his hand, his skin darkened a bit and bits of grey hairs began to poke out. Michael’s eyebrows shot up as he looked down at the growing hairs, which formed themselves into a fine patch of grey fur.
“WAAHHHH!?” he suddenly shouted as the fur began to spread across the tops of his fingers and up his arm. Sean watched in shock as Michael turned over his arm and saw the fur blooming across his palm and wrist. From the fur emerged thick black leathery pads on his fingertips and palm.
“Wh-what? What’s happening?” Michael said confused as he felt the fur making its way up his arms. He could feel the same fur growing in his still gloves hand, causing it to puff out a bit, before the fur poked out of the gap between his sleeve and wrist. As he felt the fur with his freed hand, he froze. It felt very familiar. Michael looked over at Sean, who was still dumbfounded.
“Is that… not a costume?” he asked. Sean hesitated for a moment before nodding. He pointed to the red collar around his neck before answering.
“I bought this collar for a Percy cosplay and… it turned me into him. I was trying to tell you earlier before we came inside.” he said shamefully. Michael was even more shocked now as he felt the fur growing from his stomach and chest and beginning to work its way up and down his body.
“Ohhhhh. That does explain a lot.” Michael said. The fur pushed out of his ankles and legs while he could feel his socks in his boots strain against the growing fluff. Sean couldn’t help but feel bad as he could see his clown suit puff up from the fur. He didn’t expect that he’d be able to pass it on through physical contact.
“I’m sorry. You might want to take that off.” Sean said, but Michael shook his head.
“Don’t worry. I think this is pretty cool actually. In fact, this fur color looks familiar…” he said with a sense of longing. He looked in the mirror as the fur suddenly burst from the neck of his costume, catching him off guard.
He felt the thick fur grow all over his neck and reach up to consume his face entirely. His blond hair was darkened and merged with the fur, forming a thick head of fluffy grey fur. His nose and mouth got a lighter shade of grey, which only confirmed Michael’s suspicions.
“Wait… this is Charlie’s fur?! Oh man!” Michael said with a concerning amount of excitement. Sean was at least happy that he wasn’t mad about his current situation, but he didn’t expect it to last as he saw him double over.
“URK!” he suddenly exclaimed as his ears began to quiver. Sean watched as his ears stretched out behind his head and changed from their normal oval shape to triangular cat ears. They stretched up over the top of his head and grew to massive size, giving him comically large ears.
Sean went over to Michael to support him as he could feel his face begin to stretch. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as the lower half of his face stretched and cracked out, forming a snout. His nose darkened and turned into an oval shape as it stretched to the end of his new snout.
Sean looked at his gritted teeth and saw them begin to sharpen into fine fangs, with fiercely sharp incisors. He opened his mouth a bit to catch his breath as Sean did his best to hold him up.
“Uhhhh. My pants feel weird.” he said to Sean. Sean looked to his lower backside and sure enough, a distinct bulge was appearing on the seat of his pants. With no time to waste, he gently tucked the pants out of the way as a massive grey cat’s tail tipped with white fur tore through his boxers and slithered out of his backside. Michael yelped in response, but he soon caught his breath and managed to stand up. He looked over to the mirror and looked shocked.
“Wow… I look just like him!” he said excitedly. “That wasn’t so bad.” he said as he rubbed the tufts of fur and whiskers protruding from his cheeks.
“Yeah. I wouldn’t let your guard down yet.” Sean said. Michael turned around and raised an eyebrow, when he suddenly felt the gurgling sensation return to his gut once more. A tingling sensation ran through his body, much more intense this time around, as he looked down at his ungloved hand.
His clear nails darkened into black claws before they began to stretch out. His fingers and hand followed suit, with the supple flesh bubbling and puffing out, putting strain on his cuff and sleeve.
Quiet rips suddenly filled the air as Michael saw his right hand begin to tear through his glove with ease, causing it to stretch against the growing appendage. He was lucky that his clown suit was a bit oversized, but he could still feel his body already beginning to take up the available space as he grew.
“OUGH!” he exclaimed as he felt a tightness around his feet. He looked down and sure enough, his red clown boots were beginning to bulge out a bit. Even with the extra space to make them comically large, they were having trouble keeping up with his growth.
Michael saw his arms continue to stretch and cause a go out past his cuffs while his shoulders and neck pressed into the frilly bits of his suit. His stomach and chest caused the center of his suit to bulge out slightly. He could see his eyeline rising up to meet Sean’s as his legs stretched upwards and outwards, making the gap between his boots and pants more prevalent.
“Ugghhhhh! Too… tight!” he exclaimed aloud as he felt his right glove finally begin to rip down the center. His boots were stretched out quite far by this point, beginning to bulge out past the soles. Michael could feel the leather creaking and straining, yet still it held itself together. The seams however, were not so durable.
With two loud pops, both of the soles of his boots separated at the front from the boots, causing his white socks to poke out. They were nearing their limit as well as he saw four large lumps had replaced his toes and were stretching out the elastic cloth.
Sean was impressed by how well his outfit was holding together, but he was immediately proven wrong when the shoulders of his suit tore open, revealing more of his grey fur. The calves of his pants followed suit as his knees began to rip open.
As if signalled by the fellow attire ripping, the socks finally gave way. Michael’s new paws pushed through the cloth with ease and stretched out onto the bathroom floor. Each of the four toes was tipped with a fiercely sharp claw while the undersides and soles were covered with paw pads. Michael groaned a bit as his feet stretched out and assumed a digitigrade stance, making him even taller than he had already become.
“Almost there buddy! You’ve got this.” Sean said to keep Michael steady. He gave a strained nod as he felt his clown suit beginning to rip further. The calves of his pants started to rip away while the frilly cuffs around his wrists finally snapped off, freeing up some of the tension.
The suit had lost most of its slackness and was starting to strain against his body, but Michael could feel the transformation beginning to slow down. However, his body wasn’t done just yet, as with a loud snap, the massive frilly collar around his neck popped off.
“ARGH!” he shouted as he winced and closed one of his eyes. His body suddenly shot outwards and he nearly tripped over his new legs. The sole of his right boot tore away along with the sock while the top of it finally split open, leaving him bare. His right foot quite literally exploded out of his shoe as it was suspended in the air, with both cloths and leather peeling away while the sole of his boot flopped to the floor.
With his newfound height, his suit separated at his midsection as his fuzzy stomach poked out of the new gap, making him look like he was wearing a crop top. Michael finally got a chance to catch his breath as his body concluded its changes and he doubled over, using the counter to support himself.
“Woah…. That was… intense…” he said between pants. Sean walked over to him and rubbed his shoulder gently to soothe his post-TF ache. Michael appreciated it as he managed to look at his new reflection.
It was surreal to see Charlie staring back at him. His grey fur poked out of the rips and tears in his suit while his body was much lankier and taller, making the clown suit look almost shrunken on him. He looked down at his new fluffy hands and paws and almost felt relieved being out of that stuffy suit. Still, it cost him like 50 bucks to make, but if he got to be Charlie for a day in exchange, it was worth it.
“This is so cool.” he said with squealing excitement. Sean could understand his sentiment. He would admit, despite the pain of the TF, it was nice being Percy. He just hoped there was some way to reverse it.
“Well, ready to go out to the con now Charlie?” Sean asked Michael. He looked over with a sparkle in his eyes and almost jumped with glee.
“YEAH!” he said much louder than he intended, until he looked down and realised how messy the bathroom was now, with bits of his clothes everywhere.
“Uhhhh, can we clean up first? And then grab some grub. I’m super hungry all of a sudden” Michael asked. Sean nodded. He had been starving after his transformation as well, so he understood how Michael felt.
As the two began to reach down to pick up the bits, they were interrupted by a bathroom stall opening up. Out of it stepped a man wearing jeans, sneakers, and a plain white shirt under a blue plaid button up jacket. He had short black hair and looked over at the duo confused. On his jacket was a nametag which said “Gianni Matragrano: Voice Actor”.
“What’s up with you two?” he asked. “You made quite a racket.” he added as he looked at them unimpressed by their clearly organic appearance.
“Uhhhh… sorry. We thought we were alone.” Sean said as Michael nodded.
“Yeah. We were just… roleplaying!” he added to save face. The man seemed more confused, but he just shrugged and walked over to the sink to wash his hands before stepping out of the bathroom, leaving the duo in awkward silence.
“You know? I think I’ve heard him somewhere before.” Michael said.
Sean couldn’t help but agree.
