Almost forgot to share this one! I created this painting for a local art exhibit, and so I held it back for a while until the event was over.
The theme of the exhibit was "Open/close", which left a good amount of creative freedom. I had considered several other ideas until this one struck me one morning, and I started working on it in a frenzy. My goal was to describe a feeling of yearning, and holding on to a slimmer hope. The feeling when you are warm enough to survive, but not warm enough to feel yourself.
It was a bit intimidating to commit to this style of rending, because I usually bring traditional ink drawings to exhibits - This subject would only work best as a digital painting though, so I decided to go for it. And I'm glad I did, it's one of my favourite art pieces I made this year! <3
