Enzan or Enzahn (Pronounced: n-zaw-ngh)

Enzan is a dragon of ash, as such they will go through cycles of rebirth. During such rebirth the gender of the dragon can change to be male, female, or intersex (both organs at once). In rare occurrences, Enzan can be reborn from the ashes with mutations. These can include; another pair of legs for the front, missing hindlegs, multiple wings, no wings, multiple tails, and so on. Though mutations are rare, once every ten rebirths there is a higher chance that Enzan will experience such a mutation.

During the end of Enzan's lifespan, their glowing embers will creep further up their body until in the last days of their existence in that form of themself is enveloped in glowing scales. The body will fall away, broken down into a heap of ash. As such, Enzan is most vulnerable during this time as their ashes can be collected and separated which would prevent them from being rebirthed in their full form. In cases like this, Enzan will be rebirthed but in a smaller form almost akin to a baby dragon. After, they will seek the rest of their ashes until they are able to achieve their full adult form.

Genders
Since Enzan can be born as male, female or intersex they have nicknames that they delight in using when expressing their gender.
Female - Enzii
Male - Enjii
Intersex - You may use their universal name Enzan.

When in doubt, they will always be content by being called Enzan. As of this moment they do not have any mated partners though they have a habit of having one off encounters with strangers. What's life without a little bit of fun?

Enzan is certainly one of my favorite in terms of creating a story on how their biology works. The conception of a phoenix turning to ash to be reborn is one that is quite old and yet it is still fascinating to me. Adding in my different troupes to Enzan will certainly make any future art I make of them inclusive in many pieces and pairings.
