Even on the beach, Dr. Robotnik can't catch a break. When facing off against Sonic, one good hit on his Egg Kraken turned some screws lose on the inside resulting in it attacking whatever was nearby. In a swift motion, the badnik destroyed the Eggmobile and ensnared it's master in a trap meant to subdue Sonic.
Each tentacle comes with specialized brushes meant to tickle and restrain whoever gets trapped. Unfortunately, Robotnik became the victim of his own creation.
Sonic will set him free, that is a badnik after all, but not before the doctor gets his due ;)
