Ragenhere has never cared about birthdays. In his opinion, the mother deserves all the honour, because she did all the work and gave life. That hasn't changed, not when it comes to himself.
But his pony's birthday is important to him. Because not only was Cody born into this world on this day, but it means that Ragenhere's great love also saw the light of day too. A gift, he not knew about, till both stallions finally met.
His pony is the most important individual in the world to him.
It's not about valuing only this on one day, no pretence. Every day should be dedicated with such gratitude and appreciation.
But one can give a small gift and make a sacrifice.
In Ragenhere's case, a big sacrifice.
He gives up control, allows himself to be bridled and led. The proud, stubborn and autonomous stallion gives up all that and puts everything into the hooves of his pony.
In doing so, he offers himself as a gift to Cody. He allows Cody to braid his mane and put the bridle on.
Cody has decided on a special mane, which is called 'Cilicas anawyrma' in Ragenhere's mother tongue. Elegant but not too complex.
Thus groomed and made docile with the bit, Cody leads his gift playful around the neighbourhood. Ragenhere doesn't know where, he just lets it come to him and trusts his beloved stallion.
Satisfied, happy but also flushed, the scarred fjord follows Cody into the unknown.
