A late evening, the door opens and closes as clawed paws pad listlessly across the floor. A small nest of pillows had been made on the floor and, curled up amongst them, was the rainbow-cat Feris. She opened a bleary eye with a small smile.
"How was work, babe?" she asked.
[REDACTED] just looked back with a small and tired sigh, his brain needing a moment to come up with a response, "...budge over, babe."
Feris turned over onto her back and reached out her arms as [REDACTED] shuffled his way over and thumped down on top of her, his head resting across her chest and her arms wrapping loosely about him. He let out a heavier sigh and they let themselves sink into each other.
"What were you thinking to eat tonight, hun?" Feris continued.
[REDACTED] mumbled incoherently through closed eyes.
"Would you rather stay here a while?"
He let out a grump of agreement. Feris scratched her claws carefully through his hair, shifting herself a little more comfortably into the pillows. It wouldn't be long until they both fell into a nap.
