Gorda was a Devil Kaiju who appeared Episodes 57 and 58 of the Spectreman tv series: Resurrection of the Witch Great Satan and Gorda The Phantom Monster. Gorda makes a cameo along with Kuruma Nikuras, the Weed Monster and Mogz in episode 61; The Terrifying Monster Show, as well Ep. 62 This is Gori's Final Death-Match.
(P.S.: Skip Episodes 55 and 56 Don't feature Kaiju, but a group of Aliens – The Manta Brothers – who are hired by Gori to Kill Spectreman, and Silver Comet, who came to challenge him in honorable dual.)
Appearance and Abilities
At first glance, Gorda looked like the generic depiction of the Devil, but sport canine a head with a snout full of sharp teeth, pointy bat ears, it had two antenna ending with yellow glowing orbs in its tips; its eyes had a a yellow glow to it and had two fleshy bags were hanging from the sides of its mouth, apparently these are lungs; The beast was covered in thick fur from the torso to the top of the neck and part of its arms, as well hands; the expose parts of its skin showed warts covering these sections; Yellow color bones were visible in the front part of its lower legs and finally two membranes in its back served as it wings. Gorda almost bat like shriek to its cry.
The creature was bounded with a Woman of the Planet Mephista, The Great Witch Mephista, who was banished from her home world and came to Earth 200 years before the events of the show.
Gorda used strength in combat and with its bite hold a firm grip on its enemies allowing him to release a Poison that would freeze the Lubricant in Spectreman's Body; it was capable to fire an energy beam from its Antenna and release a cloud of particles meant to blind the enemy. It was the 2nd Paranormal Monster to face the hero since Kyodora, although unlike the Alien Vampire, Saladin was a servant of the real Antagonist of the two part story line, Mephista, rather than been an entity in of itself, but could be easily hurt by Spectreman's Spectre Flash, or if his Summoner was incapacitated in anyway, the Beast's combat efficiency decreased.
History
Gori and Karas come to spot a UFO come to Earth; Gori identifies them as Aliens from Mephista and came to find their Queen, The Space Witch exile 200 years before. Following their landing coordinates, Gori manages to get to her tomb, but find the Coffin empty. He sends Karas to explore the outside and he comes under attack by the Mephistians, whose leader demands answers; Gori shows up to diffuse the situation and suggest to join forces, as he also seeks help from the witch; the Mephistians agree.
Meanwhile, George follows the trail of an energy signal all the way to a house, he sneaks into the property where he finds a young man, an artist (Andy), trying to sneak his imprison girlfriend (Lisa) out of the house, held by her father (Dr. Killiman) out of fear for unknown reasons. George decides to help while the young man distracts the girl father; George climbs the house and breaks into room startling her – the sound attracts her father who comes running to the room riffle in hand but the door is block by George who helps the girl escape. Dr. Killiman contacts the police and APB is send to Police Cars, one of which finds the trio starting a pursuit. George loses the police and the trio head to the HQ, asking for help, much to the shock of everyone of the stupid stunt he has pulled, but soon leave as the hear the Police Siren outside.
BTW, This last bit has the funniest reaction from Kim, who sees this as exciting, squeals and smacks the side of Chief Kurata LMAO XD
The trio find a place to hide in an abandon site, where Andy expresses his interest to marry her; meanwhile, Police treats the incident as kidnapping and the team decide to talk to the girl's father; in conversation with Killiman, he informs the girl is NOT her daughter in fact finding her in coffin inside in an archaeologic site, shock to find her alive, she took her to his lab, where he found she was not a human, sharing with the Squad the results of the scans, showing her to be a monster. Fearful what he has release, Killiman held her prisoner ever since. Worry for George, Arthur contacts him, only for Lisa to suffer an attack and causing George to drop his radio into the fire. As George goes to investigate, Lisa sends another signal, calling for her Mephistian Acolytes who siege on our Hero while a lone warrior attacks Andy, recovering Mephista. George tries to stop them but is stopped by the Team Commander, who he battles and later kills. He finds Andy unconscious and the two follow their trail close to where she was first found.
At the Cave, Mephista once again leads her Enclave and set her sights on the Conquest of Earth, when she is inform of George and Andy; she receives and shows her true self, turning the sky dark and firing at them. She then summons the Beast Saladin onto them, George tells Andy to runaway, this allows him to Transform and battles Gorda, with Gori and Karas watching the Spectacle.
The Cyborg/Devil Rumble all over the field, with Gorda landing a hit from its beam onto Spectreman's head, allowing the Monster to pounce onto him, biting his arm and releasing a poison that freeze the Cyborg's Fluids. Spectreman is able to fend off the Monster then land a Spectre Flash hit on the head, hurting it; Mephista recalls the Monster for its safety. Spectreman reverts to his Human form, wounded after the battle and removes the Poison; Meanwhile Andy roaming on his own searching for Lisa, like a total Simp, gets capture by the Mephistians and taken to her. He tries to talk to her through the Power of Love and Flashbacks, but gets the Witch's Cold Shoulder to his horror and his send to Prison, rejecting the harsh reality of the situation... Like a total Simp.
Yes, I'll be calling him A Simp from here on out like an Ass, cause you start hating Andy; the love stricken Moron doesn't learn - I know they want to make him a tragic character, but the whole thing comes out as, unintentionally, comedic.
George later meets up with the rest of his Team, who, along with the Dr. Killiman, then search for Andy and the Fiends. Not realizing they are in the gaze of the Witch, who plots to use them as Sacrifice to their God, Satan. Soon after, the Mephistian siege on our heroes and in the battle, but Kidnap Killiman who is taken to Mephista who plots to kill the Doctor as punishment for imprisoning her at his house; after wanting to know why she came to Earth he gets his answers, she holds him responsible for the inevitable doom of Earth; Killiman responds in Defiance; Mephista then kills Killiman.
A bit later, the Team finds Killiman's body - George then notices one of the Mephistians close by and follows. He stumbles upon a Guard on Watch and kills it, taking its robes as disguise and makes it to their base. He finds Andy, at this point having lost his mind in finding out the truth of Lisa and painted an image of her onto the wall; before he can rescue him, he is order by another guard to go to the Meeting Hall, expecting Visitors; which are Dr. Gori and Karas meeting Queen Mephista. She refuses to share Earth with them, so plotting further ahead, he "agrees" to leave Earth to her if she Destroys Spectreman. In that moment, George gets reveal to the lot and the fiends try to kill him but takes Gori Hostage – Karas convinces Mephista to let them go. George succeeds in escaping, then blasts the entrance on the way out, while Gori and Karas get berated by the Witch, though the latter warn her of Spectreman's own threat.
As George gathers with the others to plan to rescue Andy and kill Mephista, the Witch Summons Saladin once more. Taking his chance, George draws the Witch and her men out as Arthur sneaks in and rescues Andy; George outsmarts the Mephistians, but is surprise by the Witch and transforms, challenging Mephista, not knowing she is lead to a trap set by the Squad (how the fuck these people did not see George Transforming is beyond me?). However, thanks to Andy, Mephista avoids their fiery trap. The Blinded Simp boy then tries to rescue his love as Spectreman is force to battle the Witch, who disarms her from her Staff, then cuts the Jewel in her forehead; Spectreman then tosses her over the ridge and to her death. With the Witch out of the way, the Cyborg then battles Gorda.
As they fight, a dying Mephista sees the body of Andy (whose Death we were spare from cause at this point the Moron was risking all on Earth in the name of Blind Love ... LIKE A TOTAL SIMP). This causes Mephista to actually show she had feelings for Andy, despite her cold demeanor. Holding hands to his, Mephista dies. Having lost its Master, Gorda becomes distracted, which allows Spectreman take advantage of it; He charges, turns around, throws Nebula slice, cutting its Antenna and Arms, then finishes the Demon with Spectre Flash. Gorda falls to his death and crumbles into dust. Having watch, Gori berates at another defeat.
After the battle, the team get to see his last piece of work he painted in the cave; a picture of the woman he loved.
Side Note: I am not kidding, We don't get to see how Andy died. This, I would say, was cut in the American Dubbed. The only way I see this happening is as Mephista fell to her death, Andy tries to catch her (LIKE A SIMP) and the Moron fell with Her to his doom. I leave this to the more Experience Tokusatsu Lore Masters to correct me on this, but I don't see what other way this could had happened - it came out of the Blue.
Regardless, when one thinks about it, his actions cause much of the Mess that got our Heroes in. Yeah, Dr. Killiman found her, but was smart enough to not be tricked by her and concern of the danger he decided to Imprison her, but Andy is the one that made George release her from her chains, and despite seeing what she was capable of, he allow his obsession for her to nearly doomed all of Earth. It's like I pointed out before in my mini diatribes: They are trying to make him a Tragic character blinded by his love but, Unintentionally, comes out as Comedic - and mind you, this is one of the Good Episodes of the tail end, you just have to tolerate Andy ... A LOT.
(P.S.: Skip Episodes 55 and 56 Don't feature Kaiju, but a group of Aliens – The Manta Brothers – who are hired by Gori to Kill Spectreman, and Silver Comet, who came to challenge him in honorable dual.)

Another decent horror-themed story arc, second only to the Space Vampire Kyudora arc. While I did think the witch's foot soldiers sounded lame, the witch herself had a presence of her own, even making Dr. Gori back step a bit in response. Too bad that Gorda was something of a lackluster Kaiju. His design is great, reminding me of the Chojuu from Ultraman Ace, but really didn't have much in the way of putting Spectreman out of commission, in the Tokusatsu series. The manga version was more powerful, on the other hand.
