Just for comparison, I thought I'd post the early concept sketches.

Blake's - We dropped the bullet holes and lettering from Blake's badge because the icon looks much better without them at the size it's printed at. Kept the wood pattern, though, and it got more stylized as we went on. Has a neat sense of motion now, I think, which fits the character well.

Mei Xiu's - This icon changed very little from Yuki's original sketch. This is partly due to my actually having a plan for this one! The use of such minimal lines for hers really felt right for her exotic and dangerous character.

Hayes' - This one turned out WAY different than anything I could have imagined. Not to mention WAY better. ;D I really like the sense of movement here and in the final; my original idea was a far more static scratching of a table with coins stacked nearby.

Six's - We considered including her pin in the icon, but since they were printed at ~1cm tall, this wouldn't have shown up very well. Like Blake's badge, I'm pleased that we were able to keep a consistent design for her guns across the various pieces by various artists.
