Oh man... this one took me longer than I anticipated, but love how this came out in the end!

So I came up with the idea of a Nine Sols/Spider-Man crossover themed AU (along with a pic for said AU) whilst at work last week and even sketched the pic around the same time.

In this AU, the Tianhuo Virus was never created due to certain factors leading Eigong to never go through with the Immortality Project in Nine Sols, but rather instead focus on other projects to better society (though she does study the relationship between the Fusang Roots and Solarians for curiosity's sake here and there). What drove her to not go through with the Immortality Project like she did in Nine Sols I'm still thinking on, though I do have a few potential ideas I'll mention at a later time. But like canon, she still treats Yi after hearing about him somehow surviving an explosion, which results in a jade ring getting installed around his heart (and coincidentally the spot which would become his Spider Insignia's placement later on), along with becoming his mentor both scientifically and martial arts-wise like canon. But in this alternate timeline, Yi's relationship with his parents were better than they were in canon, due to him working on different projects as well as having better time management between work and family (thanks to Eigong in this AU making sure her student managed his time between the two better).

Several years later during High School, Yi takes up part-time work at the New Kunlun Research Center working on some of the projects the facility worked on. One day, however, he's bit by a radioactive spider that went missing in the research center shortly after development. While Yi didn't initially feel anything from the bite at the time, he was later sent home by Eigong when she noticed his sickly condition and later collapsed on his bed where he'd remain for nearly three days. On the morning of the third day since the bite, he awoke and discovered not only his fever had broke, but also underwent some bodily changes.

One was a notable increase in height to where he's almost a head taller than Heng (due to him initially being shorter than her prior to the bite). The next was a notable increase in musculature, muscle definition, and increase in bodily reflexes. He'd also discover other abilities not long afterwards, including developing an extra 'sense' (which would become his Spider Sense), along with being able to climb walls and shoot webs from his wrists (the first and latter prior to an altercation at his school and the second later that day).

Due to these changes, along with seeing an increase in crime in the Xia Kingdom whilst growing up, he became influenced to take on a secret vigilante life and become the Xia Kingdom's friendly neighborhood Spider Sol!

But given the Spider-verse, certain canon events can't be changed. In this AU, the deaths of Yi/Spider Sol's parents (whom he developed a stronger bond with due to the Tianhuo Virus never existing in this timeline, among other factors), was one such canon event. After the deaths of his and Heng's parents after an altercation with a Villain in this AU, he strove to become a better hero protecting/saving innocent lives while also doing whatever he can to be there for his younger sister more often, from being there when she needs him to saving her if she happened to be in trouble.
