A photo I took. If you are able, and willing, you may consider donating to the Red Cross. They are doing a lot of good down here at Memorial Hall and all over the city.

Jesus Christ Deo, thank god you´re okay.
All I´ve ever really known about Tornadoes was from the film Twister, ever since I seen that, they have always interested me, but when I see stuff like this, real life stuff. It´s so different. I can´t even begin to imagine what you, and the other people in the affected areas are going through. I wish I could give some cash to the Red Cross, but I can´t due to no money. But I´ll pray for you, and everyone else, I hope everything turns out for the better, and soon.

Ah, yea. Cellphones are great for those quick shots (and almost always have one.)
As far as respectful... I understand. I have stopped at accident scenes and offered to help (usually have my camera on me at all times) by pitching in if they need hands or taking photos if they have too many. If you can present a professional look, alot of times the emergency personnel will let you do the scene photos of an accident or fire. Most of Maine is small towns with shitty budgets, so someone who has photography experience and equipment can be invaluable. You also can free up one or more people to take down statements, direct traffic, or assist with the injured. It sounds a bit ghoulish, but its necessary and they can be appreciative.
You then provide free copies to the police/fire department and can donate/sell a few good shots to the local paper. Also, a really good shot of the EMTs, firefighters, police helping people can do wonders, perfect way to get your shot on the front page; and it can go a long way to having a positive public opinion of the people. I also tend to clean up and print off the best shots to give to the different departments, with how many volunteers are working in my area, they are overjoyed to see a shot of themselves helping people; a lot of times they do not get to see how appreciated they are and need a little ego boost.
