Before the attempted coup of 1910 by Raviyassian radicals, the palace guard was simply another facet of the local capitol police. Afterwards however the protection of the palace and Empress was taken under the army. In what became a special branch, under the military police forces, Her Majesties Most Loyal Guard was formed. This was to the initial displeasure of some parties within the other branches of the government. Though it was done so close to the attempt on the Empresses life none were bold enough to actually push back on it. Once formed the unit was issued with a unique colour identifier seperate from all other regions, gold. This served both the purpose of identification and as a badge of fealty. The troops taken in were screened for absolute loyalty to the Imperial Union and the Empress. There would be no repeats of the August disaster. Of course before any of the troops got to wear it, the Empress ensured it met her own personal standards for comfort and fashion. Only one detail was not picked personally by her, and that would be the matter of the belt buckle. Out of concern from the High Tribunes the standard belt buckle of the army was used. A small attempt for their own part to feel A. Included, and B. Like this wasn't just going to be the Empresses personal peacetime army.
