Rigby was once a rigger for the local shipping port. He assisted in hooking up cargo, guiding it, and unloading. One day he saw a fishing ship come in to unload their catch from that morning. He was fascinated with how much fish the ship could hold and wondered how it got it all in there. A couple years later, and an economic crash left Rigby without work and unsure of what to do. He was pointed to the Lost Protogen house as a way to get back on his feet. While there he met a protogen chef that specialized in seafood and sushi. They told him where they bought the fish from and that he may be able to get a job with one of the local fishers. This renewed his interest in fishing from years ago. He was hired on after one of the older salty fisherman asked to see him rig up his nets on a trial run out on the water. His skills in securing the lines, nets, and buoys got him the job. It took him over a year to develop his sea legs with how choppy the water can be. He also met Marvin, another protogen who specializes in diving and deep see fishing. He learned a thing or two from Marvin about baiting and tackle. He has been loyal to the chef ever since, helping them get the freshest catch of the day to be used at a small restaurant they run. Occasionally acts as a waiter or sous chef at the restaurant. He now dreams of one day being able to be wrapped up with the chef and sail away together on an extended fishing adventure.
