"The car was slowly making its stop. On any other night, this would have been an every day stop for Chris and Andre on their daily commute. But when the doors opened, both young men stepped out wearing mismatched, oversized clothes as a swift pick pocket robbed them clean of their personal items and clothing. They would have been in just their boxer shorts had it not been for the help of Cooper and a group of Underwear Subway ride enthusiasts that encountered them that day. In the minds of both Chris and Andre, the whole thing was very bittersweet as new friends had been made and new connections were forged, but it came at the expense of their clothing, thanks to a thief they didn't even notice were stripping them clean.
"Is it weird of me to say that despite losing our clothes...this was a decent night?" - Andre asked as he tried to keep his pajama bottoms up, still revealing some of his underwear.
"You know what? It was a decent night!" - Chris proclaimed with a sense of pride. "Normally, this would happen to me on a monthly basis , and I just walk away in my shorts with few people caring and everyone pointing and laughing. But this time, as guilty as I feel that I dragged someone else, I became friends with some really nice people this time, and I ain't going home in my shorts this time!"
"Yeah, this would be a common thing, but the whole bonding moments did make it different"
As Andre finished that sentence, Chris's stomach begins to growl rather loudly. "Heh, oops! Forgot I haven't eaten at all yet! Hey, maybe we can go grab a slice of pizza before we part ways?"
"With what money?" - Andre specified. "Our wallets were in our pants, which were stolen!". Chris sighed in deep exasperation. "Yeaaaaahh, you are right...Well, if you don't have anything else to do...I guess...we part ways?"
"I guess so?" - Andre nodded, not knowing if he would ever meet that peculiar brown bear again. Just as both men turned their backs to part ways, a familiar voice yells towards them.
"HEY GUYS! GUYS!! WAIT UP!!"
Both Andre and Chris's ears perked up, and quickly turned their heads to see something that made their eyes widened with glee; Cooper was holding their clothes!
"YOU FOUND THEM!!" - Chris cheered raising his fits up, after pretty much expecting them to be fully gone. "You guys have the best of luck!" - Cooper explained while catching his breath. " Just before we called it a night, we saw this wild dog in our group acting very suspiciously. He tried to get a little too handsy with one of our party members, and they got their lights knocked out! When we looked closely, clothes scattered around him, which matched exactly to what you told us! So we gathered them and tried to find you! Looks like everything is here!"
"That's...INCREDIBLE!" - Andre shouted with joy. Cooper then gently lays their clothes on the floor, allowing them to get their items back.
"OK...shirt, both sneakers, socks, pants...with my wallet in it...necklace...everything is here!" - Chris confirmed to everyone around
"Double confirmed, all my stuff is here, too!". Cooper had a wide smile, knowing that these two young men had a happy ending despite how odd of an meeting they experience. Chris was quick to hug Andre, his large body almost engulfing the hyena. "Looks like our luck came through in the end!". Andre was smiling as he was being smothered by Chris, still holding on to his pajama bottoms that almost dropped from the motion, but he was enjoying the brotherly love.
"Now..." - Chris explains "We have our pants back, wallets included! Can we go grab a slice of pizza now? There are no excuses now!"
Andre excitedly nodded in agreement. "I know a really good place just ahead! Just one thing..."
"Yes, buddy?" - Chris asked
"Can we get dressed? I know we were getting comfortable with these new fits, but I want to return to my kicks and regular clothes!".
"Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell...Maybe you should go back to your shorts and see how long you last in the pizzeria!" - Chris finished with a laugh
"That's a mighty dare from someone with heart boxers!" - Andre snarkily responded back. "Those hyena slippers are too cute on you!"
After a few more exchanges, Chris and Andre agree to get dressed back in their old clothes before going back to grab pizza. Cooper was thanked by them several times; it truly was an odd night of odd luck, new friends being made, and everything coming back to where they needed to be. "Just one question..." Chris pondered. "What happened to what Wild Dog? What did you guys do to him?"
"Well" - Cooper exclaimed while scratching his chin. "He was a little...overdressed for the gathering, and felt he needed some good karma back. But rest assured, he will be in good hands after tonight!"
Andre and Chris look at each other, wondering what that meant. But all of that was behind them, it was time for a slice of pizza to cap off a night of sneakers and boxer shorts!"
