The Search For Lost Species - Player Screens
Two years ago, I was commissioned to produce the majority of the artwork for the board game 'The Search For Lost Species'. There is an insane amount of diversity here. Reading the captions is a must here!
These animals are more common species found around the islands, and are used as player screens to block the view of actions from the other players. From top to bottom, there is the more temperate, ficus-filled rainforest with cuscus, the open hills with black-capped lories, the more humid deep rainforest inhabited by a reticulated python, and the mangroves where the invasive cane toads (Rhinella marina) hang out.
Man, I learned a crapload with this commission, and it really pushed me to be better under a tight deadline! I am so grateful to the art director Anita Osburn for trusting me with so much art for this game, especially on my first ever board game commission.
Take a look at how this art is implemented in the game!! https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....r-lost-species
Also check out the conservation group in partnership with the game, Re:Wild, where they strive to restore lost habitat and preserve vulnerable species and biomes. Here is a link to a list of the top 25 most wanted lost species in the world: https://www.rewild.org/lost-species.....d-lost-species
