I can't really explain this one without telling a short version of Tensik and Saraya's history.
Tensik was raised by his mother, his father long gone before he was even born. He was young when he learned he wasn't fully a lion, and that he was half dragon, but he had no idea what that really meant as he had no expression of his draconic bloodline other than his odd-colored mane. He grew up, and went to college, just as any other fur his age would.
In his senior year Tensik went to a family reunion on his father's side, meeting for the first time his older brother, Saraya. A conflict with a rival dragon clan and Tensik and Saraya's growing love drove him to leave school and move in with his older brother. But Tensik, completely naive about draconic magic, doesn't realize exactly how much his world and life has changed in doing so.
In this picture, Saraya is giving Tensik an astronomy lesson on the roof of their tower home, teaching him of the history of their people and clan, as well as how the stars shape a dragon's magic. Tensik, however, doesn't yet fully realize he's not learning about the stars of Earth, and that he's a lot farther from his old home in the American south than he thought.
Completely out of character, this started as a simple tribute to how much my brother stands beside me through thick and thin. He's always there for me, and I love him dearly.
*hugs Saraya*

Oh, and I have a question. When doing these picture, you have to ink right? Well if the inking is black, how did you get those constellations to have a white outline? I mean you can't ink something white. If you were to ink it black, once you put in the black space background, you wouldn't be able to see the ink.

That's the original background aspect before I decided to move the lions off of it and make it wallpaper scaled. But you can see the sketch and "ink" lines for Sar and Tens there, I just did it all on the tablet in contrasting colors; I then color UNDER the lines, and remove them when I'm done. The constellations I sketched in pink, and drew the turquoise over the sketchlines, which is how they're light and not black.
Usually I do sketch things out on paper first, scan it, and then redraw it in PS with a bright color to really offset it, but this one is 100% digital.
and thanks for your previous comment. :)

*shakes head* No, mom is an anthro lion, dad is a dragon who shifted into lion form. Saraya was born shortly after our father transformed, so he's much more "dragon" (much, much more, but I don't want to give away too much of his tale). Tensik was born after our father was in lion form for 13 years, so very little dragon aspect was passed to him at all. But no, they were both live-born from their leonine mother. :)
Well actually what i thought was insane, is just filling in things i remembered thinking of... heh.
I donno, i may want a print, and i might not....
Pretty drunk atm....
It looks very beautiful though.
I love the head shots, the most, but the (characters within a star) line /trace/ is very cool.... characters pictured over the stars... that are out there.... if you look hard enough....
Very cool concept.
Sure the bro, will love it. ^_^

That picture is just... well... beautiful. To me it looks like Tensik is watching the stars his brother is showing him with awe and wonderment, while Saraya's expression just shows perfectly the care and love for his younger brother.
Seeing those two together is always touching to me; through your art and the backstories, you make their love for each other reach out and touch the viewer. I can only hope there will be more to see of them in the future.

There are many good works of artists here on FA that I consider good, or even great. This piece, Tensik, is beautiful. Beautiful not only because of your unbelievable talent, but also for the feelings you have so wonderfully captured here for us to experience.
Looks at your work with the same feelings of awe and wonder that you have captured in Tensik's eyes.
*a soft, "Thank you"*

I really won't comment so much on the picture here Tensik Shisho. I probably can't say anything that hasn't been said above already.
Other than "WHERE THE HELL IS THE LEO CONSTELLATION?!!" to which I should be saying... but shall refrain from. (Yes, I did notice that those aren't Earth constellations. With the exception of that one at the top which could be debated to be Aquarius.)
I'm just amazed at the story between you and Saraya tan that you have there. [As I didn't know there would be rival dragon clans involved here. That I did not see coming.]
That was rather nice in reading there personally. Though it does go along with the picture there as making for a good explanation. [Though not explaining why Saraya tan has this strange Morgan Freeman like look to him, but not going into that.]
Still a good picture Tensik Shisho. Just liking the story behind it more.
