Emperor Caldera Rex, the Ruler of the South

Background: Emperor Caldera Rex the 16th ruler of Southern Empire. He has had a long prosperous rule, although it has been marked with criticism that he has not risen to the achievements of his ancestors; many of whom are honored as heroes of the empire leading battles that expanded their land and brought in vast amounts of wealth. Those who question Caldera would say that he merely sat on his ancestors achievements. Caldera would say that lasting peace makes his ancestors battles worth something. He does not believe that being a good Emperor is all about fighting the most battles or winning the most treasure, an empire that needs war and conquest to survive is fragile, an empire that can rest on its victories is stable, and his legacy will be all the dragons who get to know lives unfettered by need and conflict long after his rule has concluded. While his time as Emperor has been a peaceful era, his reign he would not describe as perfect, he has still had to deal with a number of issues ruling over the largest empire in the continent, while not expanding his territory he has still had to protect the territory of the empire which his ancestors fought for, and had had trouble helping some of the most destitute dragons within his empire dealing with layers of Bureaucracy. Now an old man his role as Emperor is mostly ceremonial, he still holds power but has allowed his son the Crown Prince to take up more of his responsibilities in order to prepare him for when he is eventually crowned emperor.

Personality: Caldera may look intimidating but he first and foremost prides himself on being a fair and responsible ruler holding law, justice, and tradition as the standard by which a good emperor rules his country and wishes to set a good example for all of his subjects, believing that a being head of the Empire is akin to being the head of a family and his subjects are all his children and grandchildren.

He has not needed to engage in direct combat since he sees no reason to provoke wars, but he has been trained by, and personally trained many of the Imperial Claws, the elites of the Empire's warriors.
