Lea Anne: Feral Red Fox
Place of Birth: England (Circa. 1860s)
Born sometime before Julie’s reign and raised during it, Lea Anne is at best a cautionary tale, and at worst, a look into just what sort of influence the false Queen had over the pack, and the wicked lifestyles she had them aspire to uphold.
From a young age, Lea Anne was known to be a very feisty and competitive Kit, obsessed with winning games and playfights against her best friend, Alice, born at around the same time. The beginning of their lives in the pack was generally peaceful and slow-paced, with the two often entertaining themselves by exploring and seeing how far from the pack ground’s they can wander.
However, everything changed when Julie assumed leadership and declared herself queen. Filling their heads with the bold lie of having domain over the entire island, the young Kits were very influenced, and quickly fell in line to support her. Lea Anne was no different, rapidly becoming a fervent supporter of Julie’s reign in her teenage years and aspiring to take the throne herself one day should Julie pass.
Only a few years after Julie’s disappearance, it should come as no surprise that The Ravening affected Lea Anne as well, one of the first to succumb to dark thoughts of Hunger, Bloodlust and Cannibalism all rushed to her in the form of night terrors as she aged. Repressing these thoughts and keeping these dreams to herself, Lea Anne slowly began to wonder, and eye things hungrily, slowly feeding into such dreams and accepting them.
On the contrary, her best friend, Alice, was repulsed by these night terrors, and quickly sought a way to end them. Confiding in one another about these strange occurrences only opened a rift that was already forming. Whereas Lea Anne welcomed Julie’s cruel teachings, Alice had been the outlier in her objection, masquerading as a quiet acceptance. Once the truth had come out, Lea Anne accused Alice of being a traitor and coward, and openly elected for her eviction. By now, Alice had become so terrified of what Lea Anne and her pack had become, and carrying Kits, abandoned the pack the same night.
Lea Anne’s life in the pack afterwards went smoothly, moving away from the pack and beyond the outskirts of the forest after having a Kit of her own, where she quickly became one of the most dangerous Foxes in England, with word spreading of her treatment of captured humans being exceptionally cruel. A team of doctors from Scotland traveled down to perform a psychological analysis on what is known from the pack’s foxes; and concluded that Lea Anne was, to some measure, insane.
A Change in Course?
Some time after Julie’s disappearance and Alice’s eviction, a lone Kit wanders the forest in desperate search of his mother. Fortune was his that day, as he instead stumbled across a man, a man belonging to a powerful but destitute organization of Magicians.
Having been unphased and taking heed of the Kit’s need for help, the man quickly set upon seeing these Magicians for someone who may be able to assist. A young man and upcoming apprentice in the order was chosen, sent out to search for Lea Anne for her lost son. Lea Anne was found as described by the Kit, comatose with labored breathing, her throat raw and red, inflamed from something she had eaten.
A desperate and careful crawl into her gullet, and thoroughly applied medical paste from a plant onto her throat remedied her illness. Upon recovery, Lea Anne made a rather astonishing choice and instead of attacking her saviors, decided to show the rare gratitude in exchange for saving her life, and returned to the pack with her son.
