Command & Conquer has always been one of my favorite videogame series. I've grown up with it, and still keep it close to my heart.
James Earl Jones played a role in the game, and the entire Westwood Studios, Petroglyph Games, and Command & Conquer community was absolutely devastated by the loss.
Petroglyph Games (the former Westwood Studios, makers of Command & Conquer before Westwood was bought out by Electronic Arts in 1998 and liquidated in 2002) released a statement of condolences to honor his passing.
The Command & Conquer: Reborn community hosted a well-attended game night on Friday of that week to bring the community together to help the players move forward in the wake of such a devastating loss.
That week began the 29th Anniversary celebration for the entire Command & Conquer community.
We have lost a titan of a man, and will carry his torch with us always.
As such, all banners in the Aquatix Haven were changed to reflect the iconography of the Global Defense Initiative, and James Earl Jones's profile as General James Solomon was displayed prominently in the Haven.
They'll remain up until I feel like taking them down.
