May the Abyss Guide Your Way-The Knight TF

In wilderness beyond anyone to name it, a person walked in the cold wind. The desolation was endless, and in that boundless silence without even plants, the only living thing was Nate, who kept moving forward. Without directional signs, the sun had never cast its radiance on this land. Rocks, cold winds, and dust were all that made up that dim world.
“Where should we go next... "It had been a long time since Nate had gotten separated from the others. He hadn't brought a lot of water or food, and if he couldn't leave this desolate land, he would eventually exhaust all his resources and die in this place. That being said, which side was the correct direction...
The cold wind was gradually getting stronger, and Nate just needed to rest. He happened to find a large stone that was against the wind, and he carried all his supplies behind it. He lit a fire and sat beside the only warmth in the darkness, trembling to recover his limited energy.
He took out the small, bone-like white object from his backpack. It looked a bit like a mouse pointer on a computer screen, except that the tip was longer. It looked a bit torn, but its tip was still incredibly sharp. There was no doubt that this was some kind of weapon, even if time had worn it apart, it was difficult to conceal its sharpness. That's right, it was really small...
“How small its user must have been to use this thing, "Nate muttered to himself while watching. This thing was the trophy of his journey; he had found it next to a white, broken mask-like object. Because it was made of bone and looked like a long nail, Nate had named it Nail. Speaking of which, it seemed like he had gotten separated after taking this. Not long after he had picked up the Nail, a sandstorm had suddenly broken out, and while he was walking with the team in the sandstorm, he had suddenly seemed to lose his mind and deviate from the team, heading in a certain direction. By the time he had regained consciousness, the team had disappeared.
However, no matter how much thinking about it, it was not helpful for the current situation. After ensuring the long-lasting burning of the bonfire, Nate lay in his sleeping bag and fell asleep.Nate had a strange dream. He dreamed of a city. This city was built underground, but there was endless heavy rain falling. There were no residents in the city, and the architectural style did not match any of the styles he knew. In the tallest building in the city, there was a person lying on a stone bed next to a telescope that could observe the entire city. Nate stood next to this person, even though they were face-to-face, he still couldn't see the person clearly. He could only vaguely see that the person seemed to be wearing some kind of white mask. The person had fallen into a deep sleep, and the noisy rain outside couldn't wake them up. Nate wanted to touch this person, but just before he touched them, he felt like he had fallen into an abyss, and then he woke up.
There was a saying that dreams could help people deal with people or things they had experienced in the past, but Nate had no idea that he had been to any place similar to that city before. But he quickly forgot about it; it was just a dream. Forgetting it, there wouldn't be anything wrong. After packing his luggage, Nate once again embarked on the path of searching for the team.
Nate didn't know if this was his illusion, as he always looked in a certain direction while he was on his way. Although there was nothing to reference in that endless wilderness, he still frequently looked in a certain direction. A voice in his heart was telling him that the endpoint in that direction was where he had to go. Nate tried to ignore this feeling, but even if he did, he subconsciously adjusted his route towards that direction.
There was very little food and water left, and they would all be consumed by the next day at most. Nate's anxiety was constantly growing, and if he couldn't find the team again, he would really die in that place. But what he didn't know was that the direction he was now being guided by that inner voice was exactly the opposite direction of his team, and his desired destination was an unattainable goal. After a long day of walking in the wrong direction, the next night arrived as scheduled.
This was a night exactly like the first day, except that Nate's dream had changed. Where is this? A spider nest? Nate dreamed of a room that was very dark, but a beam of light had shot down from the ceiling above and shone on a stone bed in the center of the room. Like the first dream, there was also a person lying on it. She was very fat and looked like a woman. The whole room was made of stones, and the walls were covered in spider webs. Nate wanted to take a closer look at the room, but when he walked to the other side of the stone bed, he realized that there was another peculiar creature standing there. She was wearing some kind of white mask, a red dress, and carrying a weapon on her back similar to the Nail Nate had found, but her one was longer. Nate hadn't realized what to say yet. He only saw the other party immediately adopt an attacking posture after discovering Nate. Then all Nate saw was the white silk thread and the sharp weapon.
Nate was immediately awakened. This dream was so real that even if he woke up now, he still felt scared. He took out the Nail he had found from his backpack, which was very similar to the weapon he had dreamed of.
“Could it be that... I had these dreams related to this thing? "Nate looked at the Nail in his hand. He thought about throwing away the Nail. Since the Nail could be the source of his nightmare, he would rather leave it there than die in this deserted place with his discovery. He wanted to go back alive. But a stronger idea invaded his thoughts. He couldn't say why, but he just felt like he shouldn't throw it away. This sudden idea ultimately triumphed over Nate's original intention, and he put the Nail into his backpack and set foot on the road again.
Still achieving nothing. After all, Nate had been influenced by the voice in his heart and heading in the wrong direction. The third night quietly arrived, and Nate finally ran out of all his food and water as the moonlight shone on the earth. Despite being in a state of extreme panic, Nate still fell asleep after feeling anxious and uneasy. This time, Nate dreamed of a small room surrounded by instruments, with a pool of some green liquid underneath. His intuition told him that this green liquid was very dangerous. Nate shifted his gaze away from the green liquid and looked elsewhere. In the center of the room, there was a huge aquarium with nothing inside. Standing next to the aquarium was... a person wore a white mask? And there were two of them, one of which was surprisingly large. This person also carried a nail on their back, and it was longer than the one he had dreamed of yesterday. Nate instinctively wanted to dodge, in order to avoid a sudden attack that might be the same as yesterday. But the person just looked at him, nodded, and then took off the huge mask, aiming it at the aquarium.
Nate woke up after a burst of white light. The white mask had suddenly emitted white light, illuminating the entire room and summoning Nate back to reality from his dream. The last thing Nate saw was a huge, jellyfish-like creature appearing in the aquarium. As for the person wearing the two masks, Nate didn't know him, but for some reason, seeing him made Nate feel a little heartbroken, with a feeling of wanting to rush up and ask him not to gone. However, compared to these elusive dreams, Nate was well aware that he had more urgent matters to deal with, as he had run out of food and water.
Nate thought that even if he ran out of supplies, he could still hold on for about three days. But for some reason, he felt that the speed of his physical exertion was much faster than he thought. Now was the fourth day after he had separated from the team. It seemed that the sun in this place had been hidden since the first day of his separation. The day was as dark as night, this made Nate's mood even more irritable. When he first woke up, he could still think rationally, but in this place where he couldn't distinguish time and location, with his hungry body, Nate's rationality was slowly being eroded. He had a glimmer of hope at the beginning, then pessimism, and finally despair. Normally, human mind will would not be so fragile, but there was a certain factor in this place that amplified negative emotions in people's mind. However, even so, he did not stop moving forward. Despite being in such a desperate situation, he continued to walk towards the direction indicated by the voice in his heart.
Nate's despair led to his disregard for the things around him, to the point where he didn't feel anything when strange black liquid crawled out of his backpack and began to climb onto his body. It came from the Nail in the backpack, secreted from the surface of the Nail and divided into several tiny streams of liquid, which drilled into Nate's skin like needles. This was originally an extremely painful thing, but Nate, who was in a state of despair, had already become numb and had no perception of what was happening to him. Moreover, this black liquid seemed to affect the human nervous system, and the wounds caused by the black liquid were so small that, without Nate's perception, the mysterious black liquid had all penetrated into his body.
This liquid had a significant impact on Nate. If Nate had been walking in a forest instead of a wilderness like this, he would have definitely noticed a decrease in his height compared to the trees next to him. If Nate had had a mirror in front of him, he would have noticed that his skin had turned as black as those beach tourists who had been sunbathing for hours under the scorching sun. But he didn't find anything. He was just walking, walking, suddenly falling to the ground, and then lying down like that. Poor Nate hadn't even realized that his stamina was exhausted. He fell to the ground and soon fell back into a dream.
This time he was inside a huge white building, which was a beautiful and peaceful place, if the decorations had not been those terrifying thorns and the loud electric saw mechanism. But he had already lost his senses, and that despair would not disappear even in his dreams. Not far from him, there was a throne with a person sitting on it, a person with the majesty of a king. He wore a white mask that looked like a fork and calmly gazed at Nate. A golden light suddenly shot down from the sky, blocking the way between Nate and the king as an unwelcome guest. Through this beam of light, Nate saw the king turn into a dead shell, collapsing on the throne like that. And with this beam of light, a strange creature resembling a deity suddenly appeared. It looked like a moth, but it also had many tentacles and a lot of fur. The creature lowered its head and looked into Nate's eyes, Nate immediately felt like he was attracted like a magnet with different magnetic properties and walked towards this peculiar creature.
The black tentacles grabbed Nate. The place where Nate was now was no longer a white palace, but a golden space like heaven. He stood on the clouds, with the sky stretching out into infinity, and the golden clouds extending beneath his feet, with black tentacles extending from them. One after another, more and more tentacles pulled Nate down towards the clouds. Strangely, Nate did not resist, whether it was being drawn towards the blinding light or being pulled by the dark tentacles, he no longer thought. His personal will was already insignificant, and as he was pulled deeper and deeper by the tentacles, darkness replaced light, and his emotions turned into void.
He woke up and immediately set off to continue moving forward. His skin had turned darker than before, but strangely, his face was becoming increasingly pale. His ears seemed to have grown a bit longer, towards the sides of his head. The hair had fallen out a bit, and underneath, there was equally pale skin. Compared to yesterday, Nate's height had further decreased. At the beginning, he had been 1.8 meters tall, but now he was at most only 1.2 meters tall. Despite so many changes, it still didn't affect Nate's continued progress towards his goal. The sun still hadn't shown its face; it was still a long night, as if it had entered the polar night of the North and South Poles. A long time ago, there was no concept of 'day', only Nate's biological clock reminded him that it was time to sleep now.
But he didn't. For some reason, he no longer needed sleep; he just kept walking towards his destination. What drove Nate to keep going now was no longer the longing for life or the despair of dying. He had long lost these emotions, and now it was closer to an instinct that drove him. Without the need for sleep, one naturally did not dream. There is a view that dreams are bound to human emotions, and Nate had long lost these, without happiness, sadness, anger, or despair. To summarize Nate's current state in one sentence, it was:
Dream no more.
The road was not endless, and Nate could also feel that after countless sleepless hours, he was very close to his destination. As the distance approached, the voice in his heart grew stronger and stronger. Then, the voice no longer guided the direction but began to whisper deep and clear words.
No cost too great.
As Nate approached his destination, the area below his neck became darker and darker, while the area above his neck became whiter. Whether it was black or white, it had already exceeded the level that human skin could have. Black mucus not only changed Nate's skin surface but also transformed more tissue structures into the same black mucus inside the body. His height was still decreasing, and if one had put a Nate in front of himself who hadn't undergone these strange changes yet, he could only reach his thighs now.
No mind to think.
His thoughts had long disappeared. His ears lost their shape and turned into simple curved cylinders, with only a fork at the top that looked like an angle. This corner grew upwards in a very curved way while becoming very hard. His mouth felt like it was sewn on; he couldn't open it no matter what, and his nose seemed to be blocked. The closure of organs inevitably led to suffocation, but he didn't know why, and he probably didn't have the willingness to understand the reason. He no longer needed to breathe. His face had turned pure white, except for his eyes. His eyes became increasingly dark, unable to see the pupils or whites, only darkness, a void-like darkness.
No will to break.
When his horn grew to a position one head higher than himself, it stopped growing. His horns stopped growing, but his head started growing again. His head grew in all directions, getting bigger and bigger. During this process, his mouth and nose were wiped away, and all his hair had long been lost, leaving only his eyes. His eyes grew larger and larger as his head grew, until they finally formed two perfect circles, occupying a quarter of the head area. The head stopped growing and grew to a size larger than his body. It looked more like a white mask than a head, just like the broken mask next to the place where Nate first picked up the Nail. His head suddenly sank because his neck was contracting until it completely disappeared. Looking back now, it was like Nate was wearing a headband that was much bigger than his head, and the headband was so big that it covered his neck too.
No voice to cry suffering.
It was getting closer and closer. His pants and shoes had long been left in the wilderness because, at this height, wearing clothes would only hinder walking. His neck and below had already turned pure black, and all details had been erased, whether it was pores, privacy, or anything else, there was already nothing left. Nate's shirt still hung on him, swaying in the wind. All his fingers were closed together, and his former hand was now just a simple geometric object. His feet also underwent similar changes, but more thoroughly; the structure of the feet disappeared, to be precise, the entire feet disappeared. As the point of force, it was no longer feet but two black inverted triangular cones, just like a person who had lost both legs putting on a wooden prosthetic leg for themselves.
Born of God and Void.
His shirt was changing in an incredible way, turning gray and being divided into strips that looked like a cloak. He eventually stopped becoming shorter, and his current height could only reach the calves of an adult. There were no organs inside his body anymore, replaced by the unknown black liquid that matched the surface of his body.
You shall seal the blinding light that plagues their dreams.
He stopped, took the Nail out of his backpack, and then dropped the backpack; after all, he couldn't carry it with his current height. He instead hung the Nail on his back, carrying nothing but the Nail. At this moment, he was like a lonely wanderer, searching for the direction of home.
You are the Vessel.
The vessel pulled out the Nail. In front of it was a small white reptile crawling on the ground, not interacting with anything around it, as if it were indifferent to the world. The vessel stepped forward, very close, and then with a skill and strength that Nate absolutely did not have, it swung the Nail out and hit the white little reptile heavily. The white spider was knocked away and immediately escaped from there before the vessel could deliver its next strike.
You are the Hollow Knight.
The Knight put away the Nail. Looked up, and they had arrived. At this moment, in front of them was a huge cliff. Climbing up was not easy, especially when there were countless small crawlers and flies blocking the way. But it still did it; it climbed up the cliff and found a bench. The Knight sat on top and rested for a moment, recovering from the injury it had sustained while climbing the cliff. After a moment, the Knight set off again and walked on the cliff.
There would never be daylight; fortunately, there were street lights for illumination. The Knight walked alone under the streetlight, accompanied only by shadows. After passing by a statue called 'Gorb,' the Knight stopped in its tracks. It arrived at the other side of the cliff, which was also a cliff. Not far below the cliff, a small village could be seen, with lights shining from the village. The village was a part of a great kingdom, Hallownest. The Knight stood on this cliff, looking down at the village below. The cold wind blew on the traveler who had come from afar, but the Knight remained unwavering. After standing for a moment, the Knight jumped forward and fell into the bottomless abyss filled with darkness and blinding light. Its true place of belonging. It was not a very vast wilderness, so people thought that even if Nate got lost, he could walk out alone for at most three days. During the days when Nate got lost, the entire wilderness was cloudless and had excellent visibility. However, even so, the search and rescue team searched the entire wilderness but could not find Nate. They only found traces of him lighting fires twice. So that meant Nate spent at least two nights. But when the search team followed the footprints left by Nate on the third day, they found that the footprints gradually faded until they completely disappeared.
Not far in front of where the footprints disappeared was the edge of the wilderness, where a forest began with a river running through it, growing on both sides of which were many edible berries. So the search team changed the direction of the search and turned to search the forest, abandoning the search for the wilderness. They certainly couldn't have known that Nate had never left the wilderness, neither then nor in the future. The entire wilderness was designated as a restricted area after Nate got lost, to prevent anyone from getting lost inside again. As for the white broken mask beside the Nail found by Nate, it had turned into black liquid and sunk into the ground the fourth day after Nate lost it. Later, like Nate, it left no trace in the world. Can anyone tell me when I can play the Silksong...
I didn't see too much TF about Hollow Knight, so I made one by myself, enjoy! And please point out any shortcoming in the comment section!
