Kasseri and Scar go flying together, help the locals, and talk about life.
This is a short story from the world of Sunspeaker, my webcomic in the works. It explores a moment in time between Kasseri, a faun seer, and Scar, her villages protector. This story is also a small prequel to Sunspeaker, but not required reading.
You can obtain the full comic on >>Ko-Fi<< for free (Tips appreciated!)

That looks rather sinister, considering what's starting to emerge from Scar's nest has the same appearance as the curse the antelope gained from the land. A cursed antelope is one thing. A cursed Roc would be... more than a little scary. Particularly since this is her village's protector.
Yes I do look forward to it. This miniseries is an excellent prologue to the story, as it sets up the conflict and gives some info about the main characters.
Scar alone would have attracted me. He's got a beautiful design, I have a huge affinity for feral (in the sense of being animal-like) raptor characters. And he reminds me a LOT of Ailyx from my Silent Thunder stories. In base personality the two are similar, but they've got vastly different backstories.
As Rocs go, the big featherhead is a real looker.

Thank you so much! I put a lot of love and care into Scar's design, some elements come from very deeply cherished inspiration points in my life (There's a bonus page that will be posted tomorrow that shows some of the inspiration!)
I'll definitely check out your stories this weekend when I'm off work, I'm always excited to meet more bird characters.

Ailyx is more a fish-out-of-water, an ancient Native American demigod that ended up stuck in our world, guarding a treasure for a people that had long since vanished. He got along by eating people foolish enough to trespass in his aerie or trying to steal his treasure, and hunting wild game the rest of the time. He can turn invisible at will, which makes hunting far easier.
And then along came Krowsy, and everything changed for Ailyx.

They were a gift for Krowsy, and features some themes she likes - especially the idea of befriending a macro character.
