You'll forever remember the day where you ~nearly~ caught a dragon
In the arena, chained and bound,
A red dragon on the ground.
With flames and fury, wings half bound,
It broke its chains, flings it around.
With one great roar, it took to flight,
Escaping into endless night.
No cage could hold its burning flame—
A dragon free, it earned its name.

"Never mess with a dragon" in one single image
Love the attention to details and anatomy - he is as much as elegant as he is powerful and dense. Also i can admit that the fire glands in his mouth being visible is an extra touch to the greatness of this art
He is like a walking fiery spirit of death elegantly moving spitting flames and cleansing puny foolish mortals from their hubris
Incredible beast and art!

Haha, true, that is a good summary of it :D
The fire-glands is something I added to him in around 2002. It made sense to me that dragons are somewhat fireproof/resistent on the outside but it felt too too much to give them protection to a thousand degrees fire from the inside. Initially I had them set up that one side expels the "fuel" while the other side is the oxidizer. Like a 2-component rocket fuel that starts to "burn" a few meter in front of the snout. But visually it looks better to have them both do both and let the fire start directly in front of them. So i run with that most of the time :D
Thanky you! :)
