Have you ever read a pooltoy TF and thought "Is all they want to do really just laying around in water all day with thoughts of being played with?" Did you ever lay up late night and wonder "If they had superpowers could a pooltoy kick my ass?" Are you a Digimon fan who thinks "Frontier fucking sucks I wish the characters were in a better story"? Do you think Ranamon is cool, if you know what I mean?
If the answer is yes to any of those questions then this story may very well be for you. If not I apologize, I can't write to everyone's tastes. I did mostly make this for two people, after all.

We're back here again celebrating metroid711 's birthday, and with my budding Digimon TF writing career at rapid escalation, I decided to challenge myself once again by belaying all my other plans for future stories with an impromptu one: a story I'd once again try to get out in a matter of weeks in time for Metroid's special day. The effort started on the 18th of August, and I'm proud to be typing now with a big Mission Accomplished banner that the deed is done! Hoping this one's going to be a good one again, buddy!
With the intentions behind this story, this was very much written specifically for our mutual interests and the kind of things we've liked to collaboratively narrate over the years. So working with puffy pooltoys and a dash of TG indulgence were immediately on the table. The choice of two of the ten unique lineages, so to speak, of the Digimon Frontier season were ones that were spurred by the artistically-realize ideas of other; to that we have to thank d3rpd3rp and weks for their past efforts in bringing Digimon to inflated life. These artworks were incredibly inspirational and we adore them both, and are more or less responsible for me getting in the mood to write this in the first place.
But once the thrill of the TF wears off, that's where my current writing trend takes over; what adventure can I put these two on that's not longer than necessary (I swear I want these to be shorter)? The answer ended up being simple, just make them go find other Digimon in a spot of trouble and let them exercise the new powers. That way I not only got to have pooltoys not just being pooltoys, but also got to exercise all the deep Digimon lore I got from just watching the first 3 seasons so far and play around with thematically fitting lore bits that also relate to water! It all comes together perfectly! Everything's connected!
With all that said and done, the last question one might be asking me is "ZoeYeoZ, is this one actually part of your ongoing Digimon Literary Universe (DLU)? It's a little silly to have living inflatables in your setting that's mostly grounded to Digimon lore." To that I say... Holtron. If you know, you know.

A pooltoy TF from the writer who does really great Digimon TF stories? An unexpected surprise, but a welcome one! And you know, honestly it really works. Despite being called Digimon, earlier seasons feel a lot more dream-like in spirit. Even kinda Yokai-y, which they're leaning much more explicitly into in recent years. And heck, there are literally towns of animate toys in a couple seasons. Nobody can say this is that implausible.
Glad to hear from ya again.
Certainly not the craziest thing that could happen in a Digimon world, yeah, so it indeed could be that this isn't the last one hears of Chack and Rana. Though there may be room for other Warrior Ten successors as well, the ideas are still floating. (no pun intended)
