It woudn't help at all.
It's a gut reaction from being in and around forges, and working with materials in excess of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit (hot glass). It's a reaction from having dropped glass at that temperature on myself. Yes, onto heavy fiberglass apron. As opposed to burning right though my arm ...
And many, many other incidents, both happening to me personally and witnessed first-hand.
Admittedly I'm clumsy and probably my mere presence in a forge represents a clear and present danger to myself and others but still, the thought of all that lovely and fragile flesh naked in a forge ... shudderriffic!
