I mean! There's bike models called the hornet. Most bikes just look so inspired by bugs. It's so cool, like riding an angry wasp!

Oh yeah. That reminds me that one time the Vespa scooter brand tried to do a takedown of my piece titled "Vespa Futura" on Redbubble. (I pushed back and won.) Bugs and bikes seem to be a natural combo somehow!

That's basically what I pointed out at the time, haha. You can't own a word like that, it's the scientific name of hornets, and besides my bike design had nothing to do with their brand! Very silly.

an exoskeleton at human size would either be so thick and heavy that the bug would not be able to get enough oxygen to move or would be so thin and fragile that it would fall apart and all their guts would fall out at the slightest movement. physics problem

The point of a helmet is to absorb impact so it doesn't damage the brain, right? You want a separate item from the head for best results. So if actually riding and not just looking cool, she should have a helmet, I'd think.
