The Scholar, a fuzzy orange slugcat with big yellow eyes and some purple markings. Has a pouch used to store items of great importance for them (mostly pearls, but also food or other finds in the world), is a slugcat who lives on the slugcat colony in the city on top of the can of Iterator Painted Path, a third generation newer model iterator built on the last generations of the Ancients before the Mass Ascension.

The Scholar and his colony were the same one that The Survivor and the Monk came from originally, they had gone out of the Outer Expanse for fears of the torrential downpours that Five Pebbles was pouring, lead by chief Gourmand they voyaged far away until finding PP's Superstructure, through his overseers the iterator welcome the slugcats after their painful climb to thr top of the can, he gave each one of them a citizen id drone and they became all citizens of the Painted Metropolis.

The scholar was an interesting scug, as their thirst for knowledge lead them to learn, to understand and know the language of the ancients, being the one scug in his colony to not have a mark of communication to understand the language. He and PP made quick friends as both are curious and inquisitive creatures that like to have company, and for the lonely Iterator having company and a citizen who wants to be close to him and listen to his rambles about ancient history AND brings him items of curious past for analysis, the scug and the Iterator became companions to each other, everytime the scholar departed the colony to explore, survey and find items of the land. PP would always accompany them with his overseers as to also experience thr lands beyond his can, and to see how his scug buddy is doing.

Here we see the scholar with a bountiful pouch full of pearls, items, karma flowers and a batfly snack waiting for the rain to stop on a shelter with his companion red lizard.
