Glory is the first big collaboration between
Foxena and myself. She does the linework, and I make it a comic. Basically I draw the panels and do the toning and shading and tweak and move and wiggle people around and just comic it up.
Aylinna messed around and found out. Fox gave me a brush for the empathy diamonds which means that one of Darius' hidden guardsmen is giving Aylinna a splitting headache. Arinos in the background doesn't seem too upset about it, although her son isn't too happy. Poor kid, his mom doesn't even give a crap about him. And Darius has him covered. So remember, kids... don't accuse Darius of bluffing unless you're absolutely sure he is, because he might be inclined to show you himself.

The American Frontier Period ended about 1912, where the patent for the Double Action Revolver was made in 1851. The 1877 Colt Rainmaker, was made in 1877, making it possible towards the end. You're right though. For most of the "Old West" it was impossible, but towards the end there were a couple models roaming around, but were generally less accurate than the Single Action Revolvers.
Still does not change the fact that this is not historical old west. This is a post-apocalyptic future and we will get glimpses of that later. But honestly the fact that elves, Werewolves, vampires and -ALIENS- exist in this setting, it really feels like a hollow criticism to point out the gun used is inaccurate, when what's more true is that your perception of this world is what's inaccurate.
I like how Darius looks a bit unhinged with that crazy look in his eye, especially with how his hair frames that eye. There are many ways to portray a cool, unflappable character, but having them politely but firmly provide a way for a peaceful resolution while eagerly desiring to inflict extreme violence is one way to do it. Darius is just itchin' for an excuse here.
Aylinna is the leader of the Nasillian Raiders, and Darius would get accused of playing political games when he's supposed to be out of the political game if he killed her. And the Raiders themselves would then declare war on him for killing her, which would give Darius a pile of trouble that he could probably handle but he's not ready for just yet. Aylinna knows it, which is why she's being so utterly braizen about it. This was just a little reminder that killing her would be a lot of extra work for him, but he can do other things if she continues to push like twist her brain into a pretzel. Vegetables are alive, after all...
