Character

Kayode - or Kai for short - grew up in the forests of Madagascar. As a young lemur, he loved to climb in the trees. While his hand-feet were not very suitable for long walks, they were excellent for climbing. He'd move effortlessly between trees, and his peers found him hard to follow while they stayed on the ground. He had fallen a few times, some with broken bones, but that didn't drive Kai away from his passion. Kai wasn't the worst student at school, but always had some trouble with more abstract subjects like mathematics He made many friends in his youth, charming others by his playful character. Moreover, he taught himself to use his feet the same way as he can use his hands, and learned to perform complex tasks such as writing and drawing with his feet. He dreamed of a job where he could help others whilst also living out his passion, and found one job where he could combine the two: paramedic.

Kai's talents were quite an asset while he was a paramedic in his home country; he could reach places few could reach, and rescue people from very sticky situations. In a few situations, he used the dexterity in his hand-feet to great effect. He was beloved by his team as a valuable member. He stayed there until the Wellspring Wars started to affect his country as well, causing rapid growth of plants in Antananarivo over the course of 8 minutes, overgrowing the entire city. He worked there for weeks in the release effort to free as many people as possible from underneath the plants. His work didn't go unnoticed by the Red Crescent Moon, and he would find himself being deployed elsewhere in the world helping the relief efforts in the aftermath of the Wellspring Wars. But wherever he came, he looked at the forests nearby and wander what's out there for him to explore. That wanderlust never left him...

After First Contact, the news of space exploration peeked his interest. He would be able to see strange new worlds on his journey, so many new places to explore. He enrolled, and in 2043, he was assigned to the Pioneer, where he met Xandinho. Xandi was someone who seems like the polar opposite of him, but seems to melt away in his presence and show his softer side to him. The two quickly bonded with each other, but up to this day, he hasn't found the courage to propose to him yet. Perhaps someday he finds it...

I loved drawing this guy. He should be a very fun character, coupled to one of the more stoic characters on the Pioneer. I'm sure they make a lovely couple.
