This is a naga OC I had for quite a while (is it 6 years already?!), but this is the first time I make art of her myself!
Here I also wanted to show her in a different outfit, albeit a very minimal one, that showcases her allegiance to the "Neo-Masons"... but who are they?
To quickly recap the lore of my OCs' world, mythological and other such creatures have always coexisted with humanity... although not always peacefully so. In fact, at one point in ancient history most of them were banished from human territories; those who didn't leave, either managed to remain in secrecy, or were driven to extinction. Having strength in numbers and technology, mankind turned out to be quite efficient in hunting them down, almost to a fault: the existence of those creatures and their crafts became myth and legends... eventually, most forgot or no longer cared about them.
But just when mankind was starting to indulge into the delusion of being the only dominant species of the world, they returned to claim their former lands, bringing back awe and magic to the world!
Following such events, a former Masonic Lodge took interest in the revival of those arcane arts. They welcomed and integrated them into their doctrine, becoming a sort of cult, the first that accepted humans and non-humans alike. The rest of the Free Masons distanced themselves from such emerging cult... but its members didn't care. They had become their own, independent entity: the Neo-Masons...
Neo-Masons generally appeal to powerful magicians, who unfortunately tend to attract plenty of attention, competition and even trouble upon themselves. Thus, it was quickly established that Neo-Masons had to separate their private life and identity from both the public and each other, going as far as using pseudonyms and incorporating masks into their outfits.
Here we can see my naga Nishta bearing the colours (purple and green) and the symbols of the Neo-Masons, namely the veil covering her face, which features an All-seeing Eye enclosed by 5 compasses laid in the shape of a star.
You could argue how could such a minimalistic outfit offer any concealment to her identity; worry not! It is obviously enchanted for that very purpose, emanating an aura of amnesia around her that makes any onlooker forget any identifying aspect of Nishta the very moment they look away~
