Death Valleys Devil's Golf Course is a field of knee high solid salt formations. Basically an endless field of browns, blacks, and whites, all jagged and very expansive. Good clouds, so I went with it =) Not sure how entirely happy I am with this picture honestly.
What I did: 9 stop ND filter (had no effect here unfortunately) and polarizer, threshold identified black and white levels, converted the image to BW with a high contrast red filter.

Lovely shot. *sees EXIF data* Random... May I ask your opinion on your D7000? I'm torn between it and a D300s as my next body.. but literally am on the fence 49.5% for one and 49.5% for the other, and it's tiny differences which are keeping me from making a solid decision on one or the other. x3
By pretty much all standards from what I've read, the D7000 beats it. It's just got newer tech in it that makes all the difference. Maybe wait for the anticipated D400 to come out before jumping on a camera. I love this camera though. I know two other furs who have it and so far they both seem to love it (both coming from a D90). This is my first DSLR though so I don't have a lot to compare it to. I'm still really new to this whole photography thing XD
Thanks though ^^ Yea, it only seems random because the shutter speed looks long as I was playing with my 9 stop ND filter. It was too bright though for it to really have as much of an effect as I had hoped.

Well, I've got a D80 and a D60 at the moment for my small business, and they got me through my 3 years of photo school. I was thinking of waiting for the 400, but I've got access to a D3x (sadly, not mine lol) if need be for my more high-end stuff. I just want something a little snazzier and something that can do video.. and I think it's the 7000 that's going to be taking the cake. x3 NOW.. just to get off my butt and get it. xD
