Laquos' husband Bako had a backstory where he was a gladiator in an arena, and the arena owner used magic to charm him (in D&D/Pathfinder, being 'charmed' is a magical condition that causes someone to believe they are best friends with the caster and be more likely agree with anything they say. It's kind of a soft mind control that affects their decision making rather than forces them to obey) often to make him agree with the fights.

He did a lot of violent things while charmed, and eventually through a tragedy broke free of the arena owners influence. Because of that backstory, Bako has sort of a trauma response to mental control magic, and me and Bako's player thought of a hypothetical situation where he gets mind controlled by a bad guy and easily overpowers his husband, and ends up hurting Laquos before snapping out of it due to his husband crying.

It never happened in the actual campaign, but it's fun to imagine interpersonal drama!
