My latest OCs for Mortal Kombat, set in an AU
Might add full movesets to these guys later like Aeldrin's but for now here's their basics ^_^
Auren
Background:
when his realm (name long forgotten) was consumed by his current Realm of Renaria in ages long past, the inhabitants of his realm could not survive the planar shift. Most were spirited to Heaven or the Netherrealm, but the strongest souls were able to linger in a residual spirit plane. A stymied remnant of the former plane, spectrally overlaying the current. Over time these lingering souls were able to adapt to the new plane and eventually take physical form.
But by this time, most had gone mad from sorrow, solitude, or festering anger. These mad souls took the physical forms of monsters, many of which were vanquished by heroes of Renaria over the ages.
Of the souls who endured, most have now come to be recognized my modern mortals as minor deities or nature spirits, and these entities tend to interact with mortals in neutral to beneficial demeanor.
Auren has come to be known as a Prankster Daimon and a great spirit of the travelways. Often he will lure travels into getting lost, but will sometimes help lost travelers find their way to safety; he is fickle, but responds well to offerings. Thus it is custom to leave an offering at one of his shrines before departing on a journey of any substance.
Abilities:
• Conjuring Pests
• Energy Blasts that disorient
Rukh ("Rook")
Background
In his Realm, Rain is a prominant figure who rules over one of the largest citystate civilizations. The civilization resides as the sole oasis at the center of an expansive desert.
Apart from his elite militia, the Tempest Order, Rain has established a powerful division of supranormally gifted persons, the Tempest Acolytes.
It is this division that ensures that all precipitation within hundreds of miles is reserved to the citystate.
Rainfall in the citystate occurs in precise patterns, keeping traversed spaces dry, while supplying limitless wind and water power to the society.
Because of its harsh surroundings and self sufficiency, the citystate has never once been successfully seiged, even during attempts by the Realm's more powerful armies.
Rukh was forcibly enlisted to the Tempest Acolytes due to his powers of wind.
Abilities:
• Razor Mists
• Wind Darts
