Feeling like your stress or anxiety is elevated? The cliche of "stop and smell the roses" has some merit. I don't recall the science behind it the aroma of flowers has a calming effect on the brain. Nature's aromatherapy, why do you think suave anime characters always carry a rose that keeps them cool in stressful situations? [ok that last part is a yet unproven theory]
Another unfinished drawing re-dug up and FINALLY completed after what, one or two years? [dang flower bush is what defeated my patience before]
I forgot my original intention and honestly now find it a little boring but at least I can show a full bodied drawing for once. Plus, it's satisfying to complete something you started so a few more will follow.

You didn't have to open and show that furry hot chest but I'm glad you did xD Nice hoodie and shoes too :3 The composition with the stairs I love too :3
The flower bushes feel gigantic to me in the end but I really like them too.
I agree with the cliche you mentioned. I think it could also be aplied to simply stopping for a few seconds, asking yourself why the heck am I running around and thinking about 50 things at once and just inhale and exhale slowly , understanding that you don't have to be in hurry THAT much.

He's bringing back the 80s manly look of bare hairy chest!
Thank you! Though honestly I still find the composition a bit "meh", which made me try too hard to make interesting by detailing the stair bricks and that damn tedious flower bush background [the secret is a can of Monster drink with each fertilizer okno]. But now I can't be accused of never drawing full body.
Modern city life, blessing and a curse.
The store I worked in had a garden center with fragrant Gardenias. When I would get a chance I'd visit just to smell the Gardenias and Jasmine, which I found relaxing after dealing with stressful clients or simply because it felt good to the soul.

Haha he reminds me of a Street Fighter character that you can unlock by doing a million different challenges, the secret anthro one!
He looks very rather contemplative, like he was walking down those steps home and had to take a breather to regain his balance. Given his ears are up, he may be thinking but he's definitely paying attention :D
I love the subtle outlines of your art every time I see it, it's not super dark or thick but also not so light that you can't see it. It's super nice because there are areas where the darkness obscures the line art and others where the light shines on it. Very cool and stylized!
One thing that amazes me too is your shoe design, I like how the pads on the bottom are still protected but the necessary thick toes with his claws are exposed so they aren't uncomfortably stuffed into a shoe. Otherwise that toe section is going to look huge!
That's very creative and I'll have to take inspiration from it in one way or another haha.
Also the background, it looks like some trees or the breaks in a wooden fence, either way the fuzzyness of it makes the definition present but not too much to distract!
I love this drawing, it does not look 1-2 years old XD

I had to look that up, and you're right haha. It's definitely the gloves and open chest jacket that gives the vibe. And coincidence in the latest upload he is training by punching a bag like a fighter.
I'm always amazed by your perceptive eyes, looking into his own eyes and even the position of his ears, bringing each together to form a personal interpretation in a way that makes me perk up and say, "yeah, it makes so much sense now that you mention it!".
Lineart should have purpose, or at least that's the rule I personally try hard to apply. As examples beyond just tracing a subject have the lines express weight, light source, shadow, and depth. Of course it's not a set rule as it also depends on the style. Thick lines work well with toony styles.
And here I thought the shoes looked too plain. I'm just not experienced with shoes so getting the basic "shoe anatomy" is always a little effort. But then after that hurdle you get caught up in the process of detailing them as if the whole drawing revolves around them haha, it's actually fun. And they are known as pawshoes, otherwise you are correct that regular shoes would be uncomfortable for the typical furry!
Those trees in the background were a last minute random addition just to fill the space. I was done haha. I have a lot of unfinished drawings like this that are a year or two old and decide to finish. It's actually a great side track when you have art block too!

You summed it up perfectly, "Lineart should have purpose"
Often one can get carried away with lines being placed here and there, I do that a ton and then wonder why all my art at times looks the same haha. You have a strong sense of where a line needs to go and how strong or light it must be. Traditional art makes that so hard because if you mess up a layer of graphite with one wrong stroke, you often have to erase the WHOLE thing :X
That's amazing you think like that! Instead of letting a tough aspect of the drawing over take you or glossing over it, you rather take it in stride and end up working on it to where it's more awesome looking than however you may imagined it to be. I respect that a lot, I get antsy during those parts of drawing and I admit I tend to just "tap" out and not put in the effort where I need to. I really need to get better at that!
I would just forgo shoes if I was an anthro doggo, but then one step on one of those sharp "stickers" would probably make me change my mind XD
Background trees and all, we are all looking forward to seeing the drawings!

Yes, traditional art is very unforgiving. Sometimes I have to redo a whole drawing 2,3 even 5 times because I messed up. The pain, the tears!
And you naturally get the idea where to thicken or lighten lines with practice. You are already getting a great start so in due time it will become almost second nature to you.
Hahaha, oh you remember those evil "stickers" too? [I always assumed it was a Texas given name because no one knows what I mean when I call them stickers]. Even as a dog you will appreciate paw shoes! When I would walk dogs at the humane society, sometimes they would get stickers in their paws and start limping or yipping lol and I had to pull it out.

Your naturally developed sense of knowing where line thicknesses go and how to get them to work together is definitely set into stone, and that stone is turning into gold you are amazing at it!
Those drawings of your sketches shows that you only want the best, and not only does the viewer enjoy that they respect it.
I'm getting better at it all, just sucks that one moment it looks super amazing and the next I sometimes wonder if I inked without wearing my contact lenses XD
Yes!!! It was either stickers or pricklies, and we all used the term stickers where I grew up. And my dog does the same exact thing!!! My doggo just gets silent and stands still, so I have to walk over to her and pull them out as she stares into my soul haha.

People tend to forget to appreciate the small details in their surroundings. The smell of flowers, the colours of a butterfly, the sound of birds of wind and water. It helps greatly to make a conscious effort to focus on it. For the sake of calming down and relieving feelings of stress or anxiety.
Sometimes I wonder if we are less inquisitive and curious these days when we can have it all at our fingertips. I always like the fact that smelling flowers has a therapeutic effect. But the stresses and ''hurry hurry'' of modern life makes it difficult to enjoy.
there is a flower, i think its a flower o.o. called honeysuckle that grows sometimes here
it smells amazing and you can even take the lil stem out to taste a lil drop of it. its pretty.
and gotta agreee there maybe aside the anime characters lol, great art again ^^

That honeysuckle flower sounds wonderful! I'd love to find it. Here we have a plant called Texas Mountain Laurel. They only bloom purple flowers for a very short duration in the beginning of spring and fill the air with the smell like the sweetest grapes.
