A follow-up to Summer Sunset '87. I took inspiration from some of the pictures I've shot in October 2022, while hiking with my family during our camping trip to Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave in Logan, Ohio, and pictures I took from Elly's and my September 2022 day trip to Dawe's Arboretum in Newark, OH.
This song is intended to evoke visuals of someone admiring the red, orange, and yellow autumn beauty all around them wherever they may be - a forest clearing, the head of a hiking path, or overlooking a valley beyond the fence or guard rail on a high country road - as the setting sun shines in its auburn sky.
I used software synthesizers that emulate the following:
- Oberheim OB-Xa (originally released in 1981) - spiccato synth strings
- Oberheim DMX (originally released in 1980) - main rhythm
- Yamaha DX7 II (originally released in 1986) - "BASS.1", STRINGS 2", and "TUB ERUPT" presets
- Roland D50 (originally released in 1987) - main melody "Fantasia" and modified "Soundtrack" presets
- Yamaha CS-80 (originally released in 1977) - synth harp
