After a botched attempt at Kronos Island, Sage has a second chance by helping Eggman by hacking into a private server of highly secured facility. What she didn't know is that hacking into the system would change her, be that the best or worst.

The Eggman Empire’s multiversal campaign was getting started. The “good” Doctor had all he needed. Armandas of flying battleships, legions of badniks and eggrobos, dozens of portals, millions of pointy spike traps and, most importantly, one blue nemesis tied up with some other nonsense. Now all he needed was intel on what fools could possibly put up token resistance in his new universe. To this task, he entrusted his newest AI to use a portal and an EGG wi-fi router to hack into enemy systems and see what they had in store.
"Come in SAGE. This is Eggman. What is your status?"
He waited for a response until he heard it from a young girl's synthetic voice.
'I'm here good doctor. I already enter the data stream.'
The doctor smirked and was pleased with the progress.
"Excellent work, SAGE. now all you need to do is hack into the enemy's security system and look what we need. Defenses, weaknesses, personal information, anything necessary for my victory."
In the DataStream, a young girl dressed in a black dress, has short white hair, and glowing red eyes, was floating around the digital sea, looking though each and every port to find the proper spot. Her name is SAGE and she is Eggman's personal AI. She was created to breach into the most highly advance technologies. Though despite how advance she was, she nearly caused some problems in the last mission. When she was program to access the monolith like structure on Kronos Islands, she temporarily malfunctioned and sent her creator into the virtual world. Not to mention almost killing Sonic in the process. And while she repaired most of the damage and sacrificed herself to save everyone, Eggman managed to save her and gave her a second chance in this new mission.
SAGE looked through the virtual space and, she told him of the situation.
"Understood, doctor. Though the problem is that there are multiple ports and it is really hard to pick which one is the most promising."
She soon heard the doctors voice in her head telling her, 'Then start choosing one. Whatever port is important, we would use it to our advantage.'
SAGE nodded and said with, "Understand. I'll begin hacking into the system and let you know when I successful."
Looking around the datastream, she could see eight ports around her, each with a different private system. Looking through each of them, she wondered where to start. It was then she noticed an old port that is easily accessible.
It looks like there's a logo that looks like a circule with a diamond in the middle with the black and yellows colored split in the middle line. She was curious where this port would lead her and touched on it to see where it will take her.
"Initiate Hack."
By the time she slipped easily into the port, she found herself in a strange worls that looks so out of date, but functionable. It look like a circular city that was split into different sections with what looks like a sphere like structure in the middle of it. All around her, she could see sentient like beings walking around and living their lives, with half of them looking like spheres with tiny arms and legs, and the other half looks like long Tetris like blocks with the same tiny arms and legs. And while a few of them look humanoid in nature, the population is mostly these little beings. It's almost a world outside of the real world. A mainframe in a way.
This world was an intriguing case of how different worlds developed technology in different ways. The specs of the system SAGE was sifting through were at least 30 years out of date on paper but every facsimile of this system had fully sentient AI performing basic tasks. She wondered if it was less of a real network and somehow an anthropomorphized representation of computer architecture… before dismissing that idea and continuing her search. The system looked vulnerable and there were indeed viruses already operating within but SAGE simply wasn’t compatible with such an outdated system. Still, with a system as ancient as this, this could give her a good advantage peering through the weaknesses and take whatever information necessary and give it to Eggman. Maybe look into these virus programs and see if they can ally with the doctor. But how explore it.
She seems out of place in a digital world of of an antique system, she would stick out like a sore thumb in this situation. Hiding within an ally, she accessed her system database and begin the scanning process. Giving she is just an upgraded program, her only option was to reformat into a program that would run on this system. So she scanned it over and found the perfect mark, a program marked with all the right privileges and access to restricted areas. With the type of credentials, it would be useful for her to blend in and take whatever information the good doctor wants.
With a target in mind, she shouted the system access code phrase:
“Reboot!”
With that, her body started to glow and the reformatting began.
As her data got compressed, her visuals started to change to match the chosen sprite with her hair turning from white and red to black and her dress turning a pale orange. Quickly the sensation started to overwhelm SAGE as she grew taller and the copied data became her own. She not only had knowledge on the various businesses of the city, but their founding date, inventory and their clientele. All the things necessary to breach into a private system, copy the date and send it to the doctor. After all, she build up all those businesses so she should know everything about them. SAGE realized what she thought and tried to tell herself those were false memories assimilated from the system. She must've forgot that breaking into the system reformatting her avatar, she forgot about setting up a protected barrier to keep her own self intact. As she was fighting the alien memories in her core system, her hair changed from a curled bob to a small set of twin buns, and her pale skin turned an unusual green. The memory leak helped SAGE realize that if she was to succeed, she’d need to compartmentalize to prevent code cross-contamination but as she zipped her own code, it became clear who was now in the driving seat.
At that point the code that was once SAGE was unrecognizable as her former self with her mature figure, pointed black hair buns, full red lips and green skin. Her former dress held itself tighter against her body until it had become an orange and red jumpsuit with a silver belt. SAGE’s code was now safe from being tangled by the sprite’s but at the same time, helpless to do anything. For now… she’d wait.
Dot had no idea how she’d ended up in this part of the city but she would soon get things organized again. She went about her day, blissfully unaware that not only was she not the original Dot Matrix but she had a dormant AI from another dimension using her as a trojan horse, waiting to be decompiled to do some damage. Question was, who would realize there were two Dots walking about Mainframe. And who would the sprites of the city trust, the original or this new one?
In her head, Sage, who was just sitting in the back seat while the copy of Dot was controlling her body, knew that people would find out that there will be two Dots and would figure out the copy is the fake. She would need to figure out how to resolve that one issue. She only need to wait and find a way in regaining control and handle the real one. She just hopes that it doesn't go down to this.
There is howerever...one more thing she needs to do.
In the command center, Eggman was tapping his fingers on the console and waited for SAGE to come back. For some reason, she didn't respond back and wondering what's taking her too long.
"What's taking her so long...? Is it that hard to find a port to break into and gather data. I just hope nothing bad happened to her."
Suddenly, he heard a beep something from one of the buttons and realized who it was.
"Ah! That must be her. Let's see what she found."
As soon as he clicked on the button to see the screen. But instead of Sage's face, he saw a message and it reads...
'To Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
I have interfaced with the mainframe system. However, I reformatted myself into a clone of a sophisticated sprite and my body is in autopilot while I am stuck my processor. I will be oversee the world and see what data will be useful. It will take time, but at least it can help me understand this world and how it operates. Stand by for more updates as I investigate this world. I need to run a dinner, for some reason.
Sincerely,
SAGE'
Eggman looked to the message and was quite surprised by this. But at the same time, he understands the situation. Haven't he improved on the firewalls to keep her protected, she would still have full control of her body. But now that she was trapped in her own mind while her body is acting like a Trojan Horse, it might take longer to gather information then expected. Hopefully, with time, she might regain control and continue with the mission. But for now, all he need to do is wait.
Suddenly, a quick thought popped in his head.
"Wait... Since when does a system have an actual dinner?"
