The Lovers
This drawing is a tribute to the shared origins of humanity, a reminder of the ancient ties that bind us across time. In contemplating deep time, the vast stretches of history that have shaped us, I feel a profound sense of connection to those who came before us, whether our direct ancestors or other early hominids. The Neanderthals, along with other early hominids, coexisted with us and were not so different; they loved, they dreamed, and they faced the world with curiosity and wonder. This connection is even imprinted in our DNA, a living testament to the bonds we share with these ancient relatives.
By reflecting on our similarities, I am reminded that the essence of our humanity has always been rooted in relationships, in the bonds we forge with others. This connection extends beyond just the human lineage, reaching back to the many hominids who once walked this Earth, and even to our living relatives among the primates. We are part of a vast, interconnected family, linked by our shared journey through deep time.
In this image, I seek to capture the timeless nature of love and the shared journey of our species and our kin. This is not just a story of survival, but one of enduring connection, of two souls meeting across the millennia. In their embrace, I see a reflection of our own struggles and hopes, a reminder that despite the passage of time, the essence of what makes us human and what connects us to all life, remains unchanged.
We are all part of a continuous, unbroken lineage, connected by the deep and ancient roots of our existence.

Amazing design. I adore this. Very strange to receive a resurrection of anthropological love on a furry website, anthro... Well, you got to the heart of it. In your work & the sentiments expressed. This is fantastic work. Thanks so much for sharing 𧑠The pastiche of the cave paintings & the feminine sculpture-- you're such a true fan of humanity hehehehehe
Wow I just woke up but getting emotional thinking about our relationships shared through time π₯Ήβ€οΈ incredible art. The addition of pieces of created art and tools, the cave drawings and petroglyphs all spanning through time, are all perfect additions. Thank you for creating this beautiful masterpiece β€οΈ
i am unsure as of your description, if you wanted to imply such or not, but i would like to point out, that the homo sapiens didn't come after the neandertals. we shared the same planet at the same time and lovers in what ever nature did happen. we share genes, in that we crossbred and in this the neandertals didn't go extinct as such, but became part of our gene pool. but our species didn't evolve from them, it is not a line with one species before the other. when the homo sapiens arrived from africa, the neandertals were still flourishing and only later stopped, for what ever reason, to do so.
I wasn't implying that Homo sapiens evolved from Neanderthals. I'm aware we shared the planet at the same time, which is why I portrayed them as "The Lovers." When I said "those who came before us," I was referring to both our ancestors and other hominid species, including Neanderthals, focusing on our shared history and connection, and not a direct evolutionary line.
