Alternate version of X-Men Evolution episode 50 Ghost of a chance in which during a motorcycle trip, Shadowcat meets a native american mutant girl named Danielle Moonstar and makes a good friendship with her, the young girl is endowed with several psionic powers, the most important of which is to make other individuals in her immediate vicinity live their greatest fears in powerful surreal illusions.
During a training session in the Danger Room, Danielle quickly panicked and accidentally activated her most formidable power on her X-Men being terrifying but fortunately professor Xavier arrived explaining that the incidents that had just happened were nothing more than frightening illusions caused by the new recruit.
After an interview in the professor’s office, Danielle plans to leave and tells Kitty Pryde that the Institute is no better than Dark Hollow, admitting she doesn't have full control of her emotional powers and claims to be a monster. Kitty tries to assure her that she isn't and that the problems she has don't count at the institute. Danielle continues to be upset because she believes that Charles will fire her for having nightmares while Kitty tries to explain to her friend that the teacher isn't like that.
After a nightmarish night for all the residents caused unintentionally by Danielle, it was decided to inflict a session of controversial therapy consisting of depriving her of her powers with the inhibiting necklace and then tying/gagging her on a chair for 2 hours per day to help her better control her emotions and then control her powers. The young mutant didn't hesitate for a moment and accepted that this would allow her to no longer consider herself as an unaffordable monster if it could allow her to cause more nightmares to the residents.
Kitty and Rogue took care of tying her securely to a chair then silencing her so that this is effective and Jean will help her with telepathy without being mentally interrupted by Danielle, there is more hope that these therapy sessions will prove effective.
