Working undercover in Vice is no big deal. As a cop, one must always keep their nose clean. But what happens when that undercover operative sells out an entire operation to make a bust only for it to somehow fail in the most spectacular of ways?Undercover Lynx - CopUndercover Vice Detective Kin Pierce is sitting alone in a shady bar of sorts, awaiting a possible potential client. Always on the lookout for new clients, Kin also has to be on the lookout for suspicious characters too. Ones that he recognizes are a bonus since they will lead him closer to either busting them or gaining access to other clients. But the lynx also has to watch out for himself too - any situation, no matter how good it is planned out, can always take an unexpected turn at any moment. For Kin, it's another reason for him to stay one step ahead of his rivals.
After looking out for some time, Kin finally spots the client he’s been waiting for when a massive peach furred lion walks inside, but he makes a beeline straight for the lynx officer. Growing apprehensive, Kin begins to backpedal, reaching straight for the gun he has concealed in his waistband. However, there was no need.
The peach furred lion slips into a seat opposite Kin, his orange eyes shining on the lynx before him. This seems to unsettle Kin slightly with the lynx slinking away in his seat. Yet, he couldn't give up now. He has to gain the trust of this guy so he can pursue the mastermind behind the trafficking ring he’s set on breaking up. Only problem is that Kin could lose his lead as fast as he can gain it.
“What do you have to say now, Pavlo?” Kin requested to know what his informant has dug up now from his search; the information can prove useful to his case, if Pavlo has any at all.
As it turns out, Pavlo does have something to say after all. And he proceeds to full Kin in on the situation, “There's a huge drug deal going down later on at a local crack house. But be careful - these guys are smart and can easily pick up on wires.”
Kin nods in return, taking in the information. Knowing the kind of danger that these guys pose, the lynx and his vice team have to be ready at all costs, even if it means looking like a Green Beret squad. But even the most seasoned officers and the best planned situations have hitches in them. This is where full preparation kicks in. But Kin’s intellect and instinct are hinting at something more.
“Tell me more about this huge deal going on.” Kin requested.
Pavlo elaborates, “If you want to hang with the big guns, you’ll need to start small. These guys know what a decked-out cop looks like and they can tell through disguises. Just another warning.” After pausing to let the information sink in, Pavlo resumes, “As for the deal itself, it's going to involve a major supplier - they're well-known throughout the city. And like I said earlier, they can spot a cop easily. So you'll need to be creative and work up a disguise to get around them.”
“Thank you, Pavlo. We’ll keep in touch regarding this and we'll see each other again some time later.” Kin begins to rise and leave when Pavlo stops him, grabbing the lynx by the wrist.
“Wait! You’ll need this too. It's the floor plans, layout, and address of the deal. Try not to get lost.” Slipping an information sheet inside of Kin’s jacket pocket, the lion further advises the lynx about the location, layout, and floor plans. This is satisfactory to the lynx officer, who simply nods in understanding.
~~~~~Following a briefing of the situation and course of action by the county Sheriff and other superior officers, the plan was to gain the trust of everyone involved and give the signal when the time is right. However, nighttime was selected for the best time of day to ward off suspicion. But getting into the safehouse is a different story.
A white Dodge Ram Van sneaks into the lot, pulling into a parking space. Inside the van are 6 officers, including the driver. Another vehicle, a black Honda Civic Type R (FK8), also enters the lot. Kin is driving the vehicle, transporting three other officers. However, they are quickly found out by enforcers protecting the safehouse.
Several enforcers saunter up to the Dodge Ram Van, already suspicious of the occupants inside, as well as the black FK8. They confront the occupants in the vehicles. Suddenly, the operation goes horribly wrong before the cops can even make a move.
The enforcers don't even pull out their guns when the officers exit out of the different vehicles. Even one of the guards state the obvious, sighting the Dodge Ram Van, “Do you guys really think a church bus would clear you for entry? We know who you all are and what your game is, so go home!”
“Yeah, they should! Or rather, we show them what it means when cops intrude on our turf!” A second enforcer laughed, grinning menacingly at the undercover cops.
The confrontation quickly turns into an unexpected gun battle between the drug enforcers and the cops who are now forced to fight back against heavier weaponry. Kin is also caught in the crosshairs while trying to avoid being shot himself. Faced with this unexpected development, Kin is forced to order a retreat and vacate the area. Driving the FK8, the lynx officer is able to vacate the lot just in time but his compadres in the white Dodge Ram Van weren't so fortunate.
The enforcers were carrying high-powered assault rifles while Kin’s larger team packed only standard handguns. All the lynx can do is retreat and scream over the radio, “Abort!! Abort!! They're onto us!! They picked up on us immediately!! This job is a no-go!!”
“How did these guys know that we’re cops? We're not even wearing uniforms!” Another officer asked during the high-speed getaway.
While switching between the rearview mirror and the road ahead of him, the lynx officer inwardly panics upon noticing not one but two pairs of headlights appearing behind him in the distance. Still, he suspects, “That church bus scheme was a dead giveaway! And a person of that caliber is the absolute last type you would suspect to be an officer in disguise!”
“That doesn't matter now, Kin!” Scowled another officer from the backseat. The cop behind him in the rear passenger seat, a black bear, gazes out the rear window while advising, “For now, Kin, just drive and we’ll work on dispatching these guys!”
The subsequent chase involves the lynx trying to evade a series of black Mercedes C 63 AMG Black Series (W204) cars while racing back to the precinct, trying to avoid taking as much damage as possible and avoid being killed in the process.
The officers riding with Kin hardly have any choice but to stomach the high-speed flight until they receive some actual backup. Trying to lean out of the passenger sides backwards while facing numerous enemies could end up with two outcomes - dead or injured from being shot by the enemy or being splattered on the asphalt following a sudden traffic crash.
“Kin, how much longer!?” The black bear officer shouted. He and the other officers riding with the lynx end up bearing the brunt of the G-forces from several sharp turns, maneuvers, and defensive driving techniques utilized by the lynx officer.
“Around 10 and a half miles! Gonna try and shorten the distance!” Kin reported briskly. “Better yet, until we reach the precinct!”
Gunfire erupts from behind. Kin is forced to weave in and out of lanes to avoid taking damage; at the same time, his colleagues return fire from the rear and front. The chase continues through the downtown district where one carload of enforcers attempts to ram the Honda Civic from the side. Kin attempts to fight back and is nearly sandwiched between two enemy vehicles. Concerned for the safety of his colleagues, Kin smashes his pawfoot on the brake and careens onto a different road.
“Kin!! Slow down!! You're gonna kill us all!!!” The black bear officer screamed. The lynx officer argues his case, “I’m trying to save our butts from being tanned! Y’all better hang on! We should be nearing the precinct at this point!”
Stepping on the accelerator, Kin races along the road at speeds in excess of 80 mph and climbing. But the lighter Honda is no match for the heavier and powerful Mercedes C204 vehicles.
More gunfire rings out, forcing Kin on the defensive once again. But then comes an unexpected surprise.
The Vice team never counted on traffic being an ally to their escape plan with several of the Black Series vehicles either crashing into traffic or trying to avoid traffic, only to lose control and wipe out. Using this to his advantage, Kin floors the accelerator once more, pushing the Inline-4 engine to the max. When Kin spots an incline to a different street, he goes for it, catching sight of the police precinct.
“Brace yourselves, guys! We're about to lift off!!” At 120 mph, Kin goes straight for the hilly incline and catches air, flying half a block across and landing on the other side. This Japanese sports car is slowly becoming a stunt car. But after the jump, the Vice team reaches the precinct where they meet several armed officers and marked patrol cars. Having reached the police precinct alive, the Vice team is ready to call it quits. But after informing the armed officers and the dispatcher of what happened, the Vice team can breathe easy, knowing they have another chance to snag their target.
