I've been pretty busy through the month of August working on Sunspeaker to get the comic ready for public launch before the last day of summer, but I've also been getting back into watercolor painting!

I did a few freebies for people on Twitter earlier this week, and sat down to make something cute for myself afterwards. One of the freebies was a character with red hair, and I really wanted to make a pretty unicorn who had red hair too.

I recently acquired these cute gold framed art boards from Holbein that I've seen a lot of Japanese watercolor artists use, and I totally see why they're so popular. They take to even heavy water so well without warping, and the little gold frame adds such a nice touch of elegance. They also work great for Copic markers!
