Well finally here is the colored version of "EPIC JOE"!!
I personally REALLY liked how it came out!!
I still want to add some form of background and give this scene a caption of some sort, so I'm still mauling over what that could be.
And I am loving the scar I gave him! It just adds so much more to the character. That and his ice blue eyes. I thought that would work well for him.
Anyway I hope you all like him! And PLEASE!!! Please leave comments, regardless of if you fave or not. Though deffinently if you fav.

The pistol is the (now-a-days) extremely rare "Volcanic 10". A 10 shot, lever action, tube magazine pistol.

I like to break as manny steriotypes as possible with the various stories and comics I work on. and since the story that Joe is in takes place in 1874 Arizona I didn't really want him to use the traditional Colt "Peacemaker". The most overly used revolver for the time period. (Well, at least in film and other novels.) There was such a veriatey of other fire arms back then and they're relitively obscure by comparisen.
That's also why I chose to give him a Colt "Revolving Rifle":

And a "Volley Gun":

No, not really. And the question of accuracy is why.
I mean when you litterally go around hunting Demons and other vile beasts that lurk in the shadows on nearly a daily bassis I think one would prefer a more accurate weapon.
Although Joe does carry one revolver, a Smith & Wesson Model 3 "Russian".

I thought about giving him a S&W "Schofield", but I really want to portray that classic "Spaghetti Western" feel. So I went with the S&W Model 3. It is a predisessor to the Schofield and it has a better asthetic in my opinion.

Volcanic pistol, and the possibility of a Break-top revolver as well? You're hitting some of the more interesting weapons of the west aren't ya? outstanding job on the pistol. It's refreshing to see such attention to detail on a weapon. Many artists seem to kinda, pardon the expression, half-ass it on that respect. His vest is adequately fluffy, and his hat deserves a good word as well.
The only problems I see with this fine piece of work is that one of his eyes looks slightly askew, and his sideburns seem off somehow. They lack some kind of depth I think, though I'm no artist.
Overall I really dig it.
