About that happily ever after...

It was like any other day when she received word from one of her grand-babies, worried and frightened like she hadn't ever seen! Her old adventuring party, still quite seasoned adventurers these years later had been kidnapped by an old villain that they had thought to be defeated. A man simply going by the alias The Trickster had somehow returned, and somehow thwarted her old comrades and is using their bodies for an awful scheme to bring about the apocalypse once again!

With no one else to turn to, everyone looked to Valerie once more to lead them through this turmoil. Although it did not fit as well as it did all those years ago, Valerie Lilac-Pagonis once more donned her brigandine and heroic sabre and sought out to free her friends from the Trickster's clutches!

The descendants of her old friends, her grand-babies at first were a bit skeptical.
"Gramma Val is so old, there's no way she can still swing a sword."
"She looks so frail when she walks. How can she be expected to do this on her own?" So they followed her, not willing to sit idly by while their mothers and fathers were trapped by this brute!

The Trickster's fortress was much like his name, filled with traps and puzzles that boggled the brain and punished the body should you mistep. Thankfully Gramma's memory was still pretty keen as they made their way through the dungeon to finally see her friends, their parents locked away in magical mirrors. Their energy being sapped into a giant crystal, with the Trickster there awaiting the final piece of the puzzle. Valerie.

The rabbit was still quick in her age, and her grandkids proved just as nimble in their youth! Even fighting against summoned copies of their parents they were able to bring down the Trickster. Or so they thought as they see one final trick emerge from his sleeve, or perhaps more appropriately, his scales. As the Trickster transforms into a mighty dragon! Much like the same reality bending dragon they fought at the end of the world! But Gramma Val with her now freed old friends, and the combined new guard were once again able to slay this dragon and save their land from once again being destroyed!

Finally, with all said and done Valerie sheathes her sabre. Collapsing on her knees as her age finally begins to show. She hopes that this will be the final time that she is called upon. She hopes.
