Something I enjoy on occasion is my Habenero fried chicken as the seasoning for it costs over $35.00/lb.
Depending on my taste at the time I will either single, double, triple or quaddripple dip the chicken.
8-10 pieces of assorted chicken
6-10c all purpose flour
1tbsp Chili powder (or to taste)
1tbsp each Black, Red and White pepper (or to taste)
1tbsp Garlic powder (or to taste)
1tbsp Onion powder (or to taste)
1/2tsp Poultry seasoning (or to taste)
1/8c Ground Habenero Pepper
3c Water, milk and eggs
Split flour into two different bowls putting seasoning mix into one of the bowls of flour. Place bowl of water, milk and egg mixture between the bowls to dip the chicken in if you are double dipping.
Place three pieces of chicken into the bowl of unseasoned flower, making sure to coat thoroughly, remove one piece at a time, place in dipping mixture and then into the seasoned flour, repeat until all chicken is in the seasoned flour, repeat the first step before dipping and placing the chicken back into the unseasoned flour.
***note*** you can repeat the process depending on how crispy you are wanting your chicken. If you are single dipping use only the seasoned flour.
Place coated chicken into 400 degree oil and cook until the chicken has been floating on top of the oil for approximately 5-10 minutes.
Plate with your desired sides and enjoy.
