This is actually based on the Main Villain from the Manaphy Movie:"Pokemon Rangers and the Temple of the Sea" Phantom the Pirate, who despite his name does not use Ghost Pokemon even though that would have been pretty cool, a Pirate with a Ghost Pokemon Crew...Instead he had a Chatot named Casey cause of course he's a Pirate with a Parrot, but the rest of his team were Bug type pokemon so I decided to run with that and make him a Pinsir with a bionic suit which plays in to a twist in the movie where the heroes are surprised how inhumanly strong this old man is, but it turns out he actually has a mechanical power-suit underneath his outfit.
I also like the idea that despite being an old time pirate he has no interest in holding onto old pirate traditions and the only way to survive is to innovate and advance both with his technology and tactics.
