Ridley is literally the Leader of THE SPACE PIRATES! Welcome to the Poke-Pirate club ye wretched scallywag! And once again we have another Nintendo Nemesis who happens to be a Pirate.
I thought Aerodactyl was a pretty close fit for Ridley. I came up with Reapwing because Ridley as a name means "Somebody who clears Reeds/Makes the land barren" like a Reaper, and the blades added to his wings could be used like scythes to clear foliage or reap lives from his victims. He is probably one of the scariest villains in the Metroid galaxy and in Nintendo's rogue's gallery; Samus's origin story involved Ridley killing her parents and then later bragged to Samus how he ate them! And then even after dying he can not stop coming back over and over again to menace Samus.
