I am starting to noticing there are a lot of Nintendo Villains who are Pirates. Ganondorf specifically the version from Wind Waker is the leader of a group of Pirates on the Great Ocean so... yeah I guess Ganondorf is also a Pirate!
Gotta say though Wind Waker Ganondorf is probably one of the most well fleshed out and sympathetic versions of Ganondorf. He's still a villain but you can understand his motives, from his perspective the Gods destroyed the world just to keep him from ruling it. Now he just wants to reset things to the way things used to be ignoring that people have moved on and started new lives in this post apocalypse.
I came up with the name Zhumoang from the chinese Zhu-Mowang meaning "Pig-Demon King" which perfectly describes Ganondorf and his demon form Ganon, but also there is a symbolic reference to buddhism and the animals who represent the 3 poisons of Man-kind that keep us from enlightenment: The Pig who represents Greed, The Chicken who represents Ignorance, and the Snake who represents Hate. In Hyrule Power, Wisdom, and Courage are represented by a Pig, Owl, and Dragon, and the three bearers of the Tri-force are all caught in a vicious cycle of reincarnation, I don't think this is coincidental...
Ganondorf is consumed by his Greed for power, Zelda never remembers her past incarnations so she is kept ignorant until the time is right, and Link has to constantly battle his way through Ganondorfs forces and evil deeds which a almost always hit Link where it's personal, no doubt he has hate for Ganondorf.
