With the built in couplings two Legionaires can merge in mid-flight.
The Gunship that is created through this is called the Praetorian.
Both of the ships power sytsems are coupled aswell, allowing the pilots to split up the supply.
One of the ships transfers its energy routed to the engines to shields and weapon systems, allowing an 80% increase in shield strength.
Also with the redundant shield generator the ship is able to immediatly switch out the systems, fully regenerating the shield, if the capacitators of the backup systems are still loaded.
The Weapon energy of the second ship is relocated to power up the anti-fighter turrets, which are normally unusable in single ship configuration.

One of the Pilots takes control of the bearing aswell as all forward firing weapon systems, while the other controls the turrets and guided missiles.
The technicians overwatch the coupling stability and optimal power manegement.

Due to the higher mass and less engine power the ship as quite badly manouverable.
