Mira could see it more as she walked the halls with her boss, the pyreheart wolf was in the eyes of everyone around them, even if it was for a moment, they all seemed to know and just stare at him.
She tapped Artison's shoulder, "Artison, everyone is watching you. What is going on?"
"Well, when you are well known that sort of thing happens." Artison smiled to her then kept going, "I was a student here after all, and had made quite the reputation."
Mira would glance back at these other people. She could tell what the younger ones were, but the teachers at this school were eying him too, "What were you known for?"
Artison was about to open his mouth, but held his tongue, "I was just going to show you the more fascinating parts of this academy, and their wondrous results, but we could make a detour if you are curious." He then stopped and walked back with her, taking a different hallway, the main hallway when they first entered. He led her toward the far end, passing the main office, and then stopping before a large display case. "These are why, Mira."
Mira stopped closer to the display case, guided by Artison's finger. Beyond the glass, there was a chalice shaped statuette, at its base it had Artison's name engraved, ‘The Great Renaissance Man,’ was beneath that. Mira tilted her head curious, then saw there was something behind the trophy. There were plaques on the walls, Each holding his name for different achievements. ‘Restoration Award,’ ‘Historian's Honor Award,’ ‘Great Guardians Award,’ ‘Master Artisan,’ ‘Grand Enchanter,' All these had his name to them.
"You've accomplished so much.." The first words to escape Mira's mouth, "... You must be one of the most brilliant people in this world..." Her face was pressed to the glass, "...I wish I understood what this all meant..."
It got a chuckle out of Artison and patted her shoulder, "Stay with me, and you'll learn plenty."
"I would hope so." A woman's voice heard behind them. "I'd be disappointed if one of our finest graduate wouldn't share that knowledge with such a lady."
Artison turned and saw this elegantly dressed white-furred tigress with black stripes, and he quickly bowed to her, "Afternoon, headmaster."
Mira turned around and saw this finely dressed tigress too and slowly waved to her. "Hello, I'm Mira."
"Headmaster Beauregard" the tigress said said with a soft smile, "Certainly not from here, but I suppose I should expect that since you accompany such a fine student with a wayward upbringing."
"That's very kind of you, actually," Artison smiled as he stood up again, "Mira is my assistant, and is now living with me and my sister."
"So it would seem, perhaps we have another diamond in the rough." Beauregard said, "It does seem more possible since you came here from down below."
Mira turned to Artison, "Wait, you are from down below? You are from the part of this city that you and Loretta have been avoiding this whole time?"
Artison was hesitant for words, actually struggling to string a sentence.
"Why have you been avoiding this the entire time then?" Mira said, "you know what is down there, and have gotten out of it. Why not show me around like I've been asking?"
Before Artison could object, "Artison, tiz most unethical of you to deny a ladies request."
"Please, you need understand-"
"What you must understand is that a female's desires are first and foremost." Beauregard interrupted, "Just because of your many achievements, it does not put you above ethics."
Artison looked between the two of them, his ears lowering more and more, "A-Alright... but, please, stay close to me... while we are down there..."
